And the Downward Spiral Comes Crashing Down and Jahira is out of the game.

So I know that this is a very controversial Tribal Council, but this was honestly one of the first things I had planned for this season. This vote right here was one of the first confirmed things that I had planned before I even had a cast decided. I will say the ring aspect was added in later since.... For everyone in the game, I was not going to have everyone use all of their wishes, so with this method. The Ring Story has reached it's Climax, now that only a handful of possible wishes are left. But Regardless, even before the decision to add the ring here. We were always going to go to rocks, and we were always going to lose a central character here.

Now onto Jahira. She was such a fun character, even if her personality was rather polarizing, although for the most part.... people did like her. She was someone who was going to start the game off strong and hard, she was one, if not the central figures of the Preswap Koko, but her inexperience with the game, combined with her passion and aggression spelt doom for her. When the Nezumi vote happened and Jahira/CutieCat were toppled from their solid position. Jahira could never emotionally recover and was on a downward spiral from there until she met her end.

She was stuck on a small isolated Tribe with 11-12 other people who she either did not know, or held a grudge against. Aside from her Screaming Session at the Beginning of the Episode, she had no way to calm herself and it showed. Picking Unnecessary fights with Raiza and Josh. Being Overly Aggressive with Her allies, missing clear signs of danger and constant mistakes. Forcing her alliance to go to rocks to save herself, only to try and back out when it's too late because she refused to put herself in danger, and Karma came back and hit her instantly.

There were a few drafts where Jahira went for a little bit longer, but none of them really offered a good and appropriate sendoff for her like this Tribal Council did. I loved writing for Jahira this season, and she made the first half of this season great. And it is sad to see her leave.... But just like the others. It had to be done.

Well, this is bittersweet. I liked Jahira, but it wasn't anyone I really liked. So, yeah.

Also, lol poor Jeff.

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:41 pm

@ChronoAlone: Jeff has done enough shit in RL survivor, this is Karma for those.

Reply DryIceBros, May 18th, 2018, 9:23 pm

@SWSU-Master: How much of the shit that we give Jeff do you think was really Burnett or some behind the scenes guy?

Reply Tailslover13, May 17th, 2018, 10:07 pm

Honestly, Jahira completely deserved that. This has been a 3-episode arc/downfall for her that I feel works for her character. Two episodes ago was her idiocy with the Nezumi debacle. Last episode was her hypocrisy with the Raiza debacle. And this episode was her pushiness to get what she wants, and then turning around and immediately running away and even willing to stab her own best friend in the back just to survive, which is both cowardly and even further hypocritical when SHE was the one who wanted this in the first place! Oh, but apparently when it's her own ass on the line, she's no longer willing to go through with it. Yeah...really nice, Jahira. But, be that as it may, her leaving here makes me like her. If she had gone any further and kept up this trainwreck of game-play, I would've gotten really tired of it. But, her crashing and burning like this was great, and I feel her character was brought full-circle in a good way. From the start of the game, she confessed to being an emotional hothead who can't control her outbursts, but she's AWARE of this. She makes friends with CutieCat and TRIES to play the game, and 50% of the time it works! But the other 50%...well, we've seen her mistakes. Nezumi, Raiza, CutieCat...yep. She's a flawed, yet unique character. She had her good moments, and her bad moments, and basically tonight was karma for all the bad moments catching up to her. It was satisfying watching her fun moments in the game...aggravating watching her dumb moments...but ultimately it ended satisfying with her comeuppance, and then angrily assaulting Jeff on her way out. Perfect story arc. I liked Jahira.

And now a few other things to point out. First, I'm glad CutieCat's real name was revealed; I was really getting sick and tired of fans calling her "CeCe", and characters in the game doing the same, since that clearly was NOT her real name, and it just bugged me. So, her real name is revealed, but I'm still gonna call her CutieCat...since that's what she's known as in the game. Just like how Derrick is Slash in this game and needs to be called as such. Second, I'm proud of Josh, Raiza, and Ollie refusing to just sacrifice CutieCat, despite the fact they knew luck was no longer on their side, and willing to draw rocks to save her. Those three are awesome for that. True troopers. Third, I figured Parmesan and Alfredo were the actual ones to cast the last wish, since Josh clearly wasn't going to actually make a wish himself and use Jeannie just like everyone else was, just to save a number for his side that more or less doesn't give a shit about him anyway, so good for him. Plus, Jahira had some karma points coming to her, so it worked out alright. Overall, an exciting episode.

@Tailslover13: woah what Josh is Loathe now? Why?

Reply Tailslover13, May 17th, 2018, 10:33 pm

@Guest: Because he's the fucking worst of the worst. Just the worst character ever created. He sucks and since everyone else hates him, I can hate him, too. I'll just be like everyone else.

Reply GaryHawkinsLandscaper, May 17th, 2018, 10:50 pm

@Tailslover13: Wow, way to insult Kade /s.

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:43 pm

@Tailslover13: Well you sure made up for all those one word comments with that.

Reply DrMarble, May 17th, 2018, 10:09 pm

It really sucks to see Jahira go, as I have already made my love of the Koko girls clear by this point. It also breaks my heart that Jahira was so quick to throw CeC... uh... Allison under the bus, I really liked their pairing.

Also, the Next Time on Survivor Promises more Jenny vs Derek <3

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:44 pm

@DrMarble: CutieCat liked Jahira more than Jahira liked CutieCat though....

Reply Blastoise_FTW, May 17th, 2018, 10:16 pm

holy shit man

Jahira was decent enough, I liked her.

is this the craziest tc ever??

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:45 pm

@Blastoise_FTW It might be....

Reply dat4yc, May 17th, 2018, 10:20 pm

Well that went about as crazily as I expected it. Jahira was a decent character but I think she totally had this coming. When you play as aggressively and with your heart on your sleeve like she did, it's likely it will come back to haunt you. Crazy shit.

Raiza > Ollie > Mele > Parmesan > CutieCat > Jeannie > Jenny > Slash > Josh > Derek > Kade

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:46 pm

@dat4yc: Not surprised to see Kade in last after this Episode lol

Reply vanilladream, May 17th, 2018, 10:21 pm

Jahira was pretty fun while she lasted, but I guess at this point it makes the most sense for her to go here. The Nezumi move screwed her over unfortunately and it did not seem like she would have a likely recovery from there.

Also, wow she punched Jeff. I guess she won't be coming back anytime soon either.

So it looks like next episode will bring the end to the Derek and Jenny rivalry in a classic Survivor showdown. As for which of them will come out on top, I have no idea. I could see it going either way.

Reply Misterjakester (Guest), May 17th, 2018, 10:30 pm

@vanilladream: If Bowser can set Jeff on fire and come back, so can Jahira

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:49 pm

@vanilladream: Our production actually sees the punch as a positive for Jahira's chances of coming back

Reply anime9001, May 17th, 2018, 10:26 pm

Well, this was an interesting tribal, and I'm surprisingly pretty happy with the result. Jahira was definitely one of my favorite loud angry female characters in SFC history, but that's not exactly a category that's difficult to top for me. And this tribal, even if she left due to "luck," she sorta spiraled down to her doom here regardless. She made pretty much everyone on her own alliance dislike her, particularly her closest ally RIGHT before her departure, got spite-rejected by OLLIE of all people, and, really, kinda asked for this to happen. All in all, I think this whole "basically everyone used their wishes" thing was a tad ham-fisted, but I'm pretty satisfied with it, and I'm very happy with the result.

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:51 pm

@anime9001: Her first act in the game was kicking Ollie, her last act in the game was being beaten by Ollie.

Reply RedBeryl, May 17th, 2018, 10:37 pm

Jeff Probst gets clocked.

That is my takeaway from this Tribal Council and I love it.

Cómo se Llama, Bonita, Mi Casa, Su Casa Jahira, Jahira Jahira, you had me for a while. You were a temperamental female with good reasons for acting that way. But this comic, man. It’s like all of her worst qualities decided to give themselves an upgrade at the eleventh hour. I could forgive her trying to sacrifice CutieCat since it is a legitimate game move at that stage, but the way she went about doing it in this Tribal really rubbed me the wrong way. I obviously feel bad for anyone sent home by lottery on this show, but in my honest opinion, I don’t feel as bad about Jahira leaving this way.

I’ve said this once, and I’ll say it again: multiple-person Jury gaps after the merge are bad. *Especially* when the non-juror is sent home by rocks. Just not fair at all to me. At the very least, I hope Sunslicer gets some recognition for being the double-rock guy.

1. Jeanie
2. Parmesan
3. Mele
4. Derek
5. Slash
6. CutieCat
7. Kade (+1)
8. Raiza (-1)
9. Josh (+1)
10. Jenny (-1)
11. Jahira
12. Ollie (+1)

So for the rest of the season, the Loser Lounge is populated by Charity, Naomi, Joy, Quickscope, Nezumi, Tony, Lester, and Jahira. Notice how seven of these people had instances of losing their temper, and the other one can’t physically emote.

I smell a sitcom~!

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:52 pm

@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: I mean Double Rock Guy is not a bad title to have.

Reply Pout123 (Guest), May 17th, 2018, 11:49 pm

What a fantastic tribal! I was convinced Ollie was leaving here, but this was much more interesting. I also loved the banter as Jeff was reading the votes, as that would’ve been pretty boring otherwise since everyone knew it was likely going to tie. Jahira was definitely an entertaining character, but I think this is a good spot for her to go out. She definitely was not one of my favorites thought to be honest.

1. Ollie
2. Josh
3. Derek
4. Slash
5. Parmesan
6. Jeannie
7. Raiza
8. Kade
9. CutieCat
10. Mele
11. Jenny

Reply SWSU-Master, May 17th, 2018, 11:53 pm

@Pout123: This was the perfect way for her to leave though.

Reply SkySurfer, May 18th, 2018, 12:34 am

Heh, it's funny that Jeff didn't get hurt during the Iyzebel brawl but was punched today when he didn't expect it at all. I hope they are all proud of themselves for voting against two of the nicest characters this season. Jeannie was understandable because of her powers but I didn't expect any CutieCat votes.

Jahira was more emotional than Sylvia so it was a blessing in some situations and a burden in others. Her early formal warning wasn't her best impression but it's not like she wasn't willing to shake hands to settle a dispute. Too bad Jahira's strategizing was never crowned with sucess so losing her at this point of the game makes sense.

I hope CutieCat recovers from this unexpected betrayal, she didn't deserve it. The preview is promising. Could it be we lose either Jenny or Derek next time? Will Raiza lose her robo suit at immunity? There's no breathing time here...

Reply EJ122, May 18th, 2018, 6:40 am

Losing Jahira here makes me really want somebody in the minority alliance to win this.

Jahira was a fantastic emotional character, and she's definitely one of my favorites from this season. I'm a little miffed that she was so willing to sell out Cece, but she was acting on impulse rather than logic as always.

Reply Sonofhades, May 18th, 2018, 9:50 am

That was... an experience. I'm glad I came back to this after a good night's rest, because this was CHAOTIC. Kade's got the entire tribe dancing like puppets, Parmesan's causing exactly as much chaos as I thought he would in the preliminaries, and Jahira got to do what we've been wanting to do since Cirie got voted off in horrendously anticlimactic fashion. This was a special kind of Tribal Council and I have never seen its like before. Well played.

Reply qazox, May 18th, 2018, 2:49 pm

She totally deserved it. So I wonder if everyone but her wished that they would not draw a rock to go home....

Reply Cauldron (Guest), January 6th, 2019, 4:10 pm

Jahira was probably the last person I wanted to leave... Wish it was Josh. He's so boring.
