And so the big alliance managed to reconcile for the time being, and Tony played himself right out of the game.

Okay so Tony was a character that I knew had quite a history before this season so I wanted to make sure to do them justice, so I did my best to ensure that would happen. With Amadeus and Josh on Tony's team it gave him some very good moments to be a complete asshole for himself and not care about the consequences due to his position in the game. He was willing to make a bad move or too along the way just to be a dick to someone, and honestly it seemed completely in character for him. Someone that thrives actively on making other people suffer.... So it's only natural that they get targeted in the merge.

Tony's main downfall this page while initially caused by his amazing ability to piss people off. Was trusting the wrong people, and not trusting the right one. But Tony was so sure of his plan, and had the Split vote not been repaired, he likely would have just made the biggest move in the game by playing his idol correctly. Sadly for him the majority had the numbers.

So its obvious Tony was not ever a really positive force (Although I have to say he was pretty righteous against Amadeus) I really did enjoy writing for him and I can see how cRaZy loved the guy too. He's a little hellhound who can make things interesting just by being himself.... and by being himself I mean being a total dick who loves watching others misery. <3

Phew. That went better than expected. Not gonna miss you, Tony.

@ChronoAlone: I will!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I honestly did not see this coming at all, I really did think it was going to be Jahira. Kade turning on Tony doesn't really make any sense, but I'm sure we will get an explanation soon.

Also on the positive side, HOORAY FOR JOSH. You actually made the right decision for once, good for you! Not sure why you tried to warn Tony though, but hey, it's an improvement.

Reply Tailslover13, May 7th, 2018, 10:10 pm

@DrMarble: He tried to warn him because the original target was Kade. Kade was the bigger threat here, not Tony. Josh knew how the vote was going, so he wanted Tony to play the idol for HIMSELF, and Kade would've gone. That way, the more emotional and irrational player (Tony) stayed, AND the idol is out, AND Kade is gone. But, yeah, Tony didn't listen.

Reply DrMarble, May 7th, 2018, 10:23 pm

@Tailslover13: I suppose that does make sense. All it took was the merge for Josh to finally get good at this game.

Reply Tailslover13, May 7th, 2018, 10:24 pm

@DrMarble: ...I'm not even going to bother with that. Not worth it.

Reply SWSU-Master, May 7th, 2018, 11:11 pm

@DrMarble: Maybe its a little bit of Stockholm Syndrome?

Reply Tailslover13, May 7th, 2018, 10:07 pm

Tony, Tony, Tony...why? Just...why? You are, without a doubt, one of the biggest idiots ever. Remember how much you bashed Quickscope? Yeah, you're dumber than he is. And thus Tony's tragic Survivor tale comes to a close. You know, as much as Tony's creator wants to be petty and hold a grudge against me for things from the past and bash my character for that...I'm not gonna follow suit. I liked Tony. Despite what a bullying, irrational scumbag he was...I still liked him. And, his story was honestly very sad, when you stop to think about it. Charity attempted to manipulate him with her power, and when she left, Tony began to act out, and focused all his hate right at Josh...because Josh is such an easy target. And, the entire game, Josh tried his best to make Tony open his eyes...to make Tony actually become a better player and person...and he refused. Thanks to his own arrogance, or possible insecurities, he refused to listen. If Tony had just played his idol, we all would've been happy and Kade would be gone. You see now, Tony, why Josh tried to make you see reason and get Kade out at the final 16? THIS IS EXACTLY WHY! You learned a lesson the hard way, buddy. Josh saw this coming, and you refused to listen. You have only yourself to blame for leaving here. Josh was never out to get you; he may have voted you out, but he still tried to help you one last time...and you spat in his face. Karma's a bitch. And, thanks to you, we're likely stuck with Kade for quite a long time now. Ugh. But, bottom line...I did like Tony. He was like a Wrecker/Xero kind of character, mixed with the irrational nonsensical bullshit tendencies of Russell Hantz. I don't know why, but I just found him enjoyable. Plus, in my head canon, Tony actually did have a crush on Josh and just continually picked on him to try and hide it, so that just makes me smile, too. Even if it's not true at all, I'm gonna pretend it is; it makes Tony's story much better than him just being a dick for the sake of it. We already had Lester The Unlikely for that...and Amadeus...and Quickscope. So, just give me this.

A few other things I want to mention. First, I'm glad Jahira more or less admitted she was being hypocritical and irrational. I'm proud of you, Jahira; you're off my shit list now. Second, Josh and Raiza sharing a seat was extremely adorable and a nice touch. Third, I'm very happy to see that Slash survived his first-ever merge vote, and he wasn't even a target! Good for him. Honestly, this season has continued to be very strong. I'm glad most all the negative characters are gone now (Amadeus, Quickscope, Lester, Tony)...despite the fact I loved all four of them. The fact we're stuck with Kade, though, as the main antagonist...isn't good, honestly. All four of the characters I mentioned, while less competent, were MUCH more entertaining than Kade. But, that said, I do like this trend of negative characters mostly all going early and only letting one or two stick around the rest of the way. I'm still of the mindset that positivity and heroes make a season, not a bunch of villains with only a few heroes intermingling. So, I like this.

The best possibility of,the night came true. Tony was alright at first but once Amadeus left he became just another asshole. Definitely the weakest link still in the game. And now that Kade has revealed his true intentions in the game, my interest is peaked in what he will do next.

Reply SWSU-Master, May 7th, 2018, 11:15 pm

@Misterjakester : Now that he's on the bottom, its time for Kade to put up or shut up

Reply dat4yc, May 7th, 2018, 10:24 pm

That was great. I'm absolutely ecstatic that Tony left over Jahira Jeannie or Kade. And I don't even know why I worked myself up over this vote so much, it ended up being much simpler than I imagined. Very glad everyone was able to get their shit together and stick to the plan. And the season will be better for it.

Tony was a complete dick, and I never really enjoyed it. I was worried we were gonna be stuck with him a little while longer but I'm glad it ended quickly and relatively painlessly. I'm also now excited to see how Kade will be without Tony.

Rankings: Raiza > Mele > Ollie > Parmesan > CutieCat > Jeannie > Jenny > Josh > Derek > Jahira > Kade

Reply SWSU-Master, May 7th, 2018, 11:16 pm

@dat4yc: Things would have been really bad had Josh and Raiza not gotten back onto that plan.

Reply vanilladream, May 7th, 2018, 10:25 pm

I hate to overuse the word, but in this instance I will say that that tribal was totally epic. I had no idea who would be the one going home going into it, and that last minute idol discussion between Josh and Tony had me on the edge of my seat.

Ultimately, as much as I enjoyed Tony during his time on Fini, I think this was the best time for him to go. It was pretty obvious that Josh would be the victor of their conflict just based on how their relationship played out throughout the course of the game, and this is a good time to end it. It's still fairly early in the season, but Tony had enough buildup to his downfall in this episode and the ones before it to make it interesting.

Going to be curious as to how Kade works his way out of this one. He may have saved himself during this vote, but he's still not exactly in a good position. Still, he's an interesting villain so I would not be disappointed if he made it a lot farther.

Reply SWSU-Master, May 7th, 2018, 11:17 pm

@vanilladream: Kade still has a 10-2 disadvantage he's going against... Not great odds.

Reply Friend of Fennecs, May 7th, 2018, 10:34 pm

Sweet moonbeams, that was easier than I expected! I thought they'd need to have Parm play his idol or something to make it work. Still, can't complain about the results. So long, Tony, and it wasn't nice knowing you.

Reply SWSU-Master, May 7th, 2018, 11:17 pm

@Friend of Fennecs: It was a little nice :3

Reply DryIceBros, May 7th, 2018, 10:40 pm

What A Bitch But Male So, uh, that was pretty good. I was thinking Jahira would be going home but then she didn't due to Kade's trickeries and Josh not working with his mortal enemies, and Tony went home looking like a total idiot after the person he trashed on tried to save him. But he didn't listen and now a laugh track will be playing over him for an eternity... Does Family Guy even have laugh tracks? Anyways, rankings. Sweet. Alright. Cool. Yeah. Okay. I like zooming in on these comics and looking at the sprites and stuff up close and all that stuff because it's cool to see what goes into each little thing and if you do this you may find some pretty neat stuff so give it a shot and maybe you'll find the secret ingredient to becoming woke. Or maybe you won't. You never know when it comes to blindly looking for something. Maybe you'll wind up finding something you didn't even know you were looking for, but now that its existence has made itself known to you you can no longer bear to live without it for even a second, throwing away all semblances of sanity so you can become an uglier Gollum. Or maybe it'll just be a piece of chewed up gum inside your internet.

SUPER RANKINGS:
1. Ollie (I want to die and be reborn as Ollie so I can attain perfection)
2. Jeannie (Super Great)
3. Mele (Great)
4. Derek (Bodacious)
5. Raiza (Radical)
6. Jahira (Queeeeeeeeen)
7. Parmesan (Nice)
8. Slash (Epic)
9. Jenny (Sweetness)
10. Kade (Probably good)
11. Josh (Pretty swell)
12. Amadeus (Tragic)
13. CutieCat (Alive)
14. Nezumi (Pretty good)
15. Quickscope (Not Bad)
16. Tony (Alright)
17. Joy (Yeah)
18. Lester (Meh)
19. Naomi (Meeh)
20. Charity (Meeeh)

Reply SWSU-Master, May 7th, 2018, 11:20 pm

@DryIceBros: Not sure if that Ollie ranking is ironic or not.

Reply DryIceBros, May 7th, 2018, 11:28 pm

@SWSU-Master: It's a bit of both. I do like Ollie, and the backlash towards him has heightened those feelings, but I still exaggerated it some more for the hell of it. If I were to put him where I actually think of him, he'd probably be right below Jenny at #10.

Reply GaryHawkinsLandscaper, May 7th, 2018, 10:47 pm

Tony Dog’s Losing Ground Oh, I did not like this dog. Not just because he’s a terrible person- uh, canine, but more that he failed to live up to my expectations. From the moment he was described as a “superfan who enjoyes playing the villain”, I pretty much knew exactly what I was going to get. But quite honestly, that’s not an accurate way to describe him.

Allow me to play Survivor Professor for a moment. He may have been very book smart at Survivor, but knowledge of the game does not necesarilly make you savvy, and it shows. Like Lester, Tony appeared to be much more invested in being a troublemaking asshat, which is the absolute *worst* approach to take. I can’t believe I’m about to take Lester’s side here, but I just have to say it: he was more suited for that role. With Tony, a self-proclaimed superfan, you’d expect more. From my standpoint, he’s the Garrett Adelstein of Survivor Fan Characters. Not *as* bad, but this is the closest comparison I could come up with.

Well, I can still check out cRaZy’s story and see if he did any better there. In the meantime, I hope he has some quality time with the two assholes we lost last week.

——

I had a Drake & Josh reference prepared for when Josh got Tony, but I think I’ll save it for when he hooks up with Raiza. I really hope he was going to be the cause of Tony’s demise, but whatevs. I’ll get another chance.

Anyway, fantastic episode, SWSU! This merge kept me on my toes the entire time!

*RANKINGS*

I got to enjoy this TribalCouncil far more than I expected. I noticed how Kade called Tony expendable before but I didn't expect to see another blindside against a character with an idol at hand.

I love how Tony's RealityShow knowledge still didn't prepare him for what has happened today. He definitely was a good representant of the FamilyGuy universe but his smug attitude got on my nerves in the course of time. Not sorry to see him leave for the loser's lodge.

Another detail I loved in today's comic: That Raiza shared the same seat as Josh and didn't intend to leave it. Lucky Josh, lucky indeed.

I'm interested in Kade's plan for the rest of the season. If he wants the others to trust him he will have to explain the ring theft first and a childhood story won't serve the purpose here...

Reply Sonofhades, May 8th, 2018, 12:44 am

Now this was an overall excellent Tribal Council. Jahira got some screentime and time to explain herself, Raiza got called out for cheating via the mech suit, Tony outplayed himself as much as Kade did, and Josh is finally having something go right for him. Boffo. A good one.
I've actually acquired more respect for Kade after his little speech. If what he's saying is true, that he's making his life harder for himself on purpose, then I can wholeheartedly endorse that plan. He's playing to make things more interesting for himself and for the audience, and that's the mark of a great Survivor player.
As for Tony, well... mixed feelings at best. I feel like every time he showed a glimmer of being a decent villain, he immediately did something petty or shortsighted to mitigate that impression. I won't miss him too much, especially since we still have a proper villain here.

Reply anime9001, May 8th, 2018, 12:47 am

"I want to play this game on the hardest difficulty"

Well, that won't be hard with only one partner and an idol against 12 at the merge....

*Backstabs only willing ally, wasting the idol in the progress*

12 to 1 at the merge with no idol....alright, I stand corrected. NOW it's the hardest difficulty. Well done!

As for the vote, the result was what I predicted, but not the way it happened. Josh was almost certainly going to have the final word against Tony, but I didn't expect Kade to be the final nail in his coffin. Can't say I'm particularly disappointed with this result, I don't think there's a single person I wanted to see gone more, although Kade will certainly be the bigger pain of the two moving forward. Speaking of which... it would seem Kade's going to be pulling some shenanigans with the next vote. I'm curious, and somewhat scared, for what that's going to entail~

Reply MechanicalMind, May 8th, 2018, 4:49 am

Well that went alot better than I thought it would! So in reality the plan Jahira had made was actually a ruse for Tony to waste his idol on the wrong person. After they placed the seeds on Tony's head they rejoin the split vote, and the results were fantastic. How was I supposed to know about that? Josh chose the split vote, no shock for him thankfully.

And then we have Kade's betrayal, which makes sense if you want to play this game on the highest difficulty. He got what he wanted. And Tony in the end makes a double-blunder by not only wasting his idol but by trusting the wrong guy in Kade and not listening to the right guy's warnings in Josh. This is where playing like Tony gets you. IN YOUR OWN DESTRUCTION!!!!!!

I'm curious to see how Parmesan knew about the jury not starting for a while after the merge. Did he find a hidden note, saying "The jury starts at the final x" in an immunity idol from the Guardians tribe or something?
