Once again, a lack of trust among allies can lead to disaster for all. In this case a big black eye for CutieCat and Jahira, and a downfall she didn't want from Nezumi.

Nezumi is honestly a really tricky situation for me outside of the story. Since when Applicants get sent in, I usually do take it as permission to use unless stated elsewhere at a later time. And basically "No News is Good News" And in Nezumi's case, I was unable to get in contact with her owner until an episode or two after Nezumi was already voted out. And while I can say inactivity never really hinders an application game and storywise. There were some things with Nezumi's character that I feel might have been done a bit better had I been able to touch base before the season started. Wouldn't have changed the placement, but some things might have been different.

Now onto Nezumi the character, her fatal flaws were not just her arrogance and her inability to rely on others, but also her unwillingness to adapt to the situation. She was in a solid position on Koko early on and she had a great plan, but as the tribe and the dynamics of the tribe changed. Nezumi wasn't willing to adapt to the new situations, since her arrogance prevented her from re-examining her spot in the tribe and thinking it over. And with that Arrogance, she turned her two closest allies against her, and the alliance's lack of trust led to three of them having a monumental failure and blowup at the vote.

I feel like it started last Episode with Quickscope leaving, but even moreso in Episode 5 with tonight and tommorrow's votes. We are losing the first of the major characters of the season. Those that were not cast to be fodder and actually having a decent story and a good personality/character. And while this might have been predictable for some, with Nezumi, I did have time to build a proper arc that I'm happy with for her, however due to her departure in Episode 5, most of her storyarc was her downfall. I really enjoyed this vote though.

Yet another tribal council that was far dumber than it needed to be (in terms of what the characters did, not what SWSU did). This was so stupid to see. Like, CutieCat and Jahira doing this and HOPING that Nezumi had an idol was really stupid; you know you could've just ASKED Nezumi to be honest with you and tell her the truth about the vote that night instead of trying to pull a "huge move" like two attention-seeking idiots at tribal, right? Not only that, but CutieCat blurted out that Jenny had an idol, which was a really bad move and probably made Jenny stop trusting you, AND they voted against poor Raiza for literally no reason and pissed HER off as well! Literally other than Jenny, Ollie, and Raiza, the three original Koko girls all embarrassed themselves tonight. Also, Nezumi, you kinda had this coming for being a controlling bitch the entire time you were in the game. You can be mad all you want, but you were likely gone either way. Even IF CutieCat and Jahira had joined you in voting for Ollie, it would've been a 3-3 vote. And...with how you treated CutieCat and Jahira, do you REALLY think they'd risk going for rocks on a revote just for your ass? Hell no. You did this to yourself with your relentless pursuit of getting Ollie out, treating Jenny like a number instead of a true ally and completely dismissing Raiza, and then treating your two original teammates like shit and making them not care that much about you (despite them actually TRYING to save you with this convoluted plan). Nezumi is basically just another douchey pre-merge character that we've all seen before. Somewhat reminds me of characters like Drake, Jez, Crisco, Annabelle, Tamara, and other characters along those lines. She at least was a bit more entertaining than past Ranma 1/2 character Geena, and her sprite design was admittedly really cool, but otherwise she's not all that great. Probably the most forgettable member of Koko by season's end. Disappointing.

@Tailslover13: You know you could have just waited until tomorrow for the ranking....

Reply Tailslover13, April 21st, 2018, 10:57 pm

@SWSU-Master: I post rankings at every tribal. This is a tribal. I don't do it at the end of episodes; that's silly.

Reply ChronoAlone, April 21st, 2018, 10:08 pm

Slight obvious, but not at all a bummer.

I'm just worried about what'll come tomorrow.

Reply SWSU-Master, April 21st, 2018, 10:55 pm

@ChronoAlone: Chaos comes.

Reply DrMarble, April 21st, 2018, 10:09 pm

Yeah, I saw this coming for awhile. Once again, I'm sorry that i wasn't able to respond to you in time, my fault for being a huge idiot.

However, I can still say that I couldn't be happier with how she turned out. When i created her, I was hoping that she would be someone who got sent out in a humiliating fashion. Seeing Nezumi throw a massive temper tantrum as she realizes she is screwed is just what I was hoping to see.

Thanks for accepting her SWSU, next time I'll be sure to respond to your messages.

Reply SWSU-Master, April 21st, 2018, 10:56 pm

@DrMarble: I'm just glad this didnt devolve into something... Terrible lol.

Ollie lowkey contender for best voting confessional in SFC

As for Nezumi, meh. Will not be missed!

Lele will be even more hilariously obvious, so can we just skip to the next episode?...please?

Reply SWSU-Master, April 21st, 2018, 11:00 pm

@Blastoise_FTW: If I can get past the Enter Episode in SFC12, you all can get past this.

Reply Misterjakester (Guest), April 21st, 2018, 10:13 pm

Nezumi was alright. She didn't really do that much early on but later she got more interesting and dynamic. Not much else to say besides the fact that she got ratted out this tribal council.

Reply SWSU-Master, April 21st, 2018, 11:00 pm

@Misterjakester : Ba Dum Tssss

Reply vanilladream, April 21st, 2018, 10:21 pm

Can't say I'm too shocked by this result. Nezumi really dug her own grave here with her condescending attitude whether she likes to admit it or not. Unfortunately, this means Cece and Jahira are in a pretty bad position, and I can't say they played this the smartest way possible either.

Also, Ollie is oddly growing on me. He was pretty hilarious this comic.

Reply SWSU-Master, April 21st, 2018, 11:01 pm

@vanilladream: There were mistakes all around here.

Reply EJ122, April 21st, 2018, 10:25 pm

Yeah, that was predictable. It was a good short-term downfall though, props for that.

Lester probably leaves in the Lele tribal, though there's a lot more uncertainty regarding that vote. I believe there's a parallel going on with this double tribal episode: One vote in which someone is told to play their idol but doesn't have one, and someone with an idol who is blindsided out of the game.

Also, Ollie's winking while lying is definitely going to become a subtle plot point in the future. That's not just a throwaway!

Reply SWSU-Master, April 21st, 2018, 11:03 pm

@EJ122: You sure about that?

Reply GaryHawkinsLandscaper, April 21st, 2018, 10:34 pm

Rodent to Nowhere Maybe it’s the fact that this is the first time Koko had any real dramatic focus, but I never really built much of an opinion on Nezumi. I knew I was supposed to hate her, but with so much negativity coming in from the other, much louder sources, Nezumi didn’t really stand out. Until now, that is. What an amazing breakdown.

Here’s the interesting thing about this- to an extent, Nezumi had every right to be angry. This was a *terrible* plan that was not thought out at all. All they had to do was ask Nezumi beforehand whether or not she had the idol instead of blindly assuming she had it. That way, they could’ve attempted to work around the problem and prevent the rocks from being drawn. Though the fact that these two allies whom Nezumi thought so little of were the direct causes of her elimination is absolutely perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so sympathetic to, and yet so satisfied by someone’s elimination.

——

I don’t like thinking this, but CeCe and Jahira might’ve lost some points with me for that blunder. Really, it was painful.

@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: What kind of points? Likability or Winner?

Reply GaryHawkinsLandscaper, April 21st, 2018, 11:14 pm

@SWSU-Master: My completely broken rankings system.

Reply RedBeryl, April 21st, 2018, 11:09 pm

Whoa, Nezumi is a lot more angry than I thought she was. Also amazing mess of a Tribal, even if it was a little predictable. Messes are fun!

Wink.

Reply Darknile55, April 21st, 2018, 11:30 pm

predictable boot is predictable now onward to the next Tribal where things might not go has planed.

Reply MechanicalMind, April 22nd, 2018, 4:43 am

That was Option C? To vote for Raiza and tell Nezumi, to play the idol even though she didn't have it in the first place, causing Jenny to spend her idol on Ollie as well, so that only their votes on Raiza would count? THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE! If they didn't assume so quickly that Nezumi has the idol and ruled out Parmesan, they wouldn't have ended up forsaking her in the first place. And now they are about to face the WRATH of Raiza, who they tried to & nearly voted her off, when they could have totally avoided this kind of scenario.

Reply MechanicalMind, April 22nd, 2018, 11:29 pm

@MechanicalMind: And one last thing. If Option C is worse than Shitty Choice A & Shitty Choice B, than I would have to call it Shittier Option C.

Reply SkySurfer, April 22nd, 2018, 8:03 am

The peaceful days on the Koko tribe are finally over. What a shame actually.

I aleady had a bad feeling during the cast release when Nezumi was introduced. Although she did so well during first immunity, she spent way too much time to focus on an Ollie boot which earned her the title "Chloe 2.0“. Yeah, she was more likeable than said panda but I cannot say I pity her because of her arrogant moments.

CutieCat made this way harder for herself than necessary. It doesn't seem like her honesty was that much appreciated today...

RIP Nezumi

She died as she lived

Forgettable

Reply dat4yc, April 22nd, 2018, 11:08 am

That was a great way to execute a fairly obvious boot. Nezumi has been fairly arrogant these past few comics, but this is the first time she came across as a completely over the top asshole.

It was a pretty risky and not the smartest move from CeCe and Jahira, but in the end it was Nezumi’s fault for being so arrogant and standoffish that they were unable to trust that she didn’t have an idol. See ya Nez, won’t miss ya too much!

Reply qazox, April 22nd, 2018, 2:34 pm

Maybe if Nezumi actually listened to people she'd still be here.

Reply anime9001, April 22nd, 2018, 3:42 pm

Well, the boot was relatively obvious, but the course it was going to happen had a few routes it could go. CeCe and Jahira's plan being about as terrible as Nezumi talked about was pretty accurate, in the end. At the very least, they should have cast only one vote on Raiza so Ollie would go home if Jenny didn't play the idol, but there were holes in this plan every way you look. The least of which was certainly not the fact Nezumi didn't have the idol to begin with. That said, I won't particularly miss Nezumi, though I will miss her little Alolan Rattata form.

Moving forward, time for someone who actually HAS an idol to leave without playing it~
