For better or for worse, a move was made, and the big man got a game over. Damon is out of the game.

When this season started coming together Damon was one of the first people I ended up locking in for the cast since he was just so fun to use in SFC13, so he was one of those that I figured a second season couldn't hurt.... and I was right. Damon was a strangely odd mix for a Returning player. With Angelo he had his own dynamic, while when he was on his own, his old personality shined just as it did in his first time, and he actually developed a bit as a competent player in the game himself while still keeping his charm. Sometimes there are certain things in a season that end up happening that just arent in my initial plans for the season and just sort of happen due to the characters arcs going in ways I didn't plan.

Damon was the person this season who did the most of that, since outside of his relationship with Angelo, everything else from him was basically improvised when it came to his relationship. Being the mediator in the Brandi/Lake situation worked out great, being a foil/ally for Riley. Hell even the Mario/Luigi thing he had with Angelo and the Koopas was something I didn't make as a conscious design choice and only realized it halfway through Episode 3. But he worked out so well in almost every single aspect, and helped play into the setting more than any other Stranger to this land.

In the end, this is a place I feel that is fair to cut Damon in, and it seems like he surpassed several peoples expectations in longevity. Especially since we had people predicting his Elimination as Early as Episode 1. So lasting until Episode 12 is pretty damn impressive for the big guy.

And just like that, Bowser Jr.'s plan goes off without a hitch and Damon has left the building. Sorry, Damon, but you had this coming. I love you a lot, deserved this. You brought a joke of a character into the season (Angelo), you joined up with villains just to "avenge" him which in turn hurt the people you were closest to before, and then you tried to flip back and play both sides. Well, guess what? Game doesn't work like that. Mario doesn't ALWAYS win, so finally you got what was coming to you. THAT're still awesome. SFC13 benefited from having you be a part of it, and so did this season. Anyone who seriously hates you needs to have their brain removed, because clearly they don't like anything positive or uplifting in their lives, so they should just donate their brain to science so that it can be fixed and fine-tuned to appreciate good, likable characters. Damon is just a really lovable person and every scene he's in (without Angelo) is typically a great one. I know he had no real shot to win, but it's nice that he made it pretty far once more. I loved him the first time, and I loved him again here.

Well Junior your plan actually worked, but now Vinnie knows you are not trustworthy and will possibly eliminate you to get rid of someone that could be a problem for his game.

Reply rac567 (Guest), July 12th, 2017, 10:04 pm

Wow Vinnie's plans to get rid of certain contestants have failed a lot this season, haven't they?

Reply ChronoAlone, July 12th, 2017, 10:05 pm

Damn. Knew it was going to end up this way. At least Damon's made the Jury twice. That in of itself is an accomplishment. I know others have done it, but it's still impressive.

Damon is easily my favorite SFC character, so it's upsetting to see him go. However, this elimination didn't hurt nearly as much as his SFC13 one. So at least that's something.

Also, seeing Jr. control Vinnie's vote was incredibly satisfying in a way. Congrats kid.

Called it! Cya, Damon. Love ya, hope to see ya on the Heroes tribe one day with Spongebob and P. Bear!

Next episode is gonna be fun.

And the student has surpassed the master. It was fucking amazing to see Junior not only catch Vinnie off guard, but force his hand in order to eliminate a threat in Damon. If Doris or Riley doesn't win this game in the end, I hope to god Junior does, because that kid is playing one HELL of a game.

Poor Damon is "the looks like he is going to be the main hero only to get eliminated late in the game" contestant.

Ashley Madison? Lemme google that. ... Oh. That's a thing? I... dunno what to say about that. Huh.

Right, Previews~
~A Pair Splits? Huh? Whut? Hmm. I can see how both might be possible. Possibly Sierra and Thorne, after what Damon said in panel 13... although I could see a case being made for Riley and his werewolfishness.
~A Shock at Tribal Council? Well, Doris is the only one with an idol now. Maybe she plays it on someone else? That'll be interesting...

Well, Vinnie still has his numbers and is rid of Damon... but it's evident now that Junior is going off the rails now. I'm kinda rooting for Sierra now, and not just because that's Thorne's endgame as well.

I liked Damon better in 13, and I think this is a good time for him to go, but he's still a great character with a lot of energy and charm! very glad you gave him another shot and equally happy that he made it far in both of his attempts.

Damon is high on my rankings but I'll just wait until the season ends and post the final list then

Awwwwww man... Good move from Bowser Jr but it still really sucks to see Damon go... Top notch character, love that guy so much. I'm interested to see where everything goes from here. Looks like Vinnie's group has the numbers pretty solidly but I doubt that will last.

Riley > Vinnie > Doris > Bowser Jr. > Tialayla > Thorne > Sierra

I think you missed a big opportunity, SWSU.

Either way, this was a TERRIBLE move for Bowser Jr. Selfish, personal, and does nothing for him or the alliance. Damon wasn't a threat. Even in the challenges he was winning jack. Tialayla and Riley were bigger threats than him.

Well, with Damon gone, I think it's basically confirmed Doris wins. I mean, who else is left? This is why I believed he was surviving the vote, because he was literally the only other potential winner left besides Doris.

Bowser Jr has pretty much lost all potential, and his gameplay is shit. Vinnie doesn't want to win. Riley isn't winning. Tialayla won't even get close to the finals, and one of SWSU's legacy OCs. Thorne and Sierra are sisters like Liz/JoJo, and they've played terrible games.

Doris hasn't played the best game, but like... Logic. That's the part of 'Edgic' we all forget. We all focus on the 'Edit', but not the 'Logic'.

And I think there went everyone's biggest hope for the winner of this season! Oh well, guess the man in red can't win them all. As SWSU said, Damon was a blast in his first season, and he was a blast to see again. At least he and his bro both made the jury.

Damon's departure aside, Vinnie does NOT look happy with that win/lose play by Bowser Jr.....

You're My Boy, Bleuth! I was originally worried Damon was going to be the exact same person he was in SFC13, but I was surprised to see him given the Papa Wolf trope to play with. Sure, he was always a nice person, but I wasn't expecting him of all people to be the one to call out Lewis on his bullshit, especially since he's proven to be useless at reforming Iyzebel.

Damon Bleuth is the best, and anyone who argues against it... well, I have no authority to change your opinion.

The stars (my winner predictions) lied to me. Now I'm sad.

1. Sierra
2. Doris
3. Tialayla
4. Riley
5. Bowser Jr.
6. Thorne
7. Vinnie

are we getting a double boot next episode, or will the finale have six peeps?

Reply SkySurfer, July 13th, 2017, 2:47 am

Oh well, Junior becomes more and more like his dad, what a crying shame. Not only did he waste his idol for personal grudges, Vinnie won't appreciate the second move.

Despite being too trusting, Damon didn't have any noticeable flaws and would have been a serious threat in the FTC voting. Just like the first season he will remain among my favourites by the end of the season.

It seems like the next round aims for Sierra doing her own thing and a double boot.

Reply qazox, July 13th, 2017, 3:09 pm

A little sad he's going; but Vinnie has no armor left besides Jr. Vinnie can't just Russell Hantz this thing right?

Reply Sonofhades, July 14th, 2017, 9:36 am

Goodbye, Damon. You were wonderful in your second seasons and I can't wait to see you again once Final Tribal comes around. I'm pretty sure Bowser Jr. is going next unless Vinnie can get him back on track.
