Fan Characters will be competing for $1,000,000.
Not much tends to get past Thorne...
Random Mario Fact #3: Jackie Chan indirectly influenced the game. Kung-Fu was a major source of inspiration for Super Mario Bros. In America, Kung-Fu just starred some random character named Thomas, but in Japan it was actually a licensed game based on the Jackie Chan movie Spartan X (more commonly known in America as Wheels On Meals). So gaming’s most agile, jump-happy star was indirectly inspired by action movies’ most agile, jump-happy star. Makes sense.
I'm sorry, but I just can't STAND Thorne. I get she has a lot of fans who thinks she's "so deep" and "complex" and whatever, but I just don't see it. She has Bonnie's vulgarity, she never smiles, she's mean, and she's just a really sad-sack character. It's like watching a rain cloud constantly over your head. I really don't like her. I hope she or SFC11 Cheating Satan Spawn goes first if they lose.
@Tailslover13: I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I have a feeling Thorne's gonna go deep. It happened with Popper. The dude didn't even get half-way through the pre-merge, and he lasted quite a while in SFC6.
That being said though, I have a feeling Eli won't last, though we'll just have to see what happens.
@ChronoAlone: I know she is, clearly. She didn't even make the merge last time, so naturally she's going to make the final 5 or some bullshit like that this time. I'm just going to dread it. She and Lewis are already two I can't stand: two rude, serious, unsmiling jerks. I hate players like that. Even Bonnie and Iyzebel are more interesting than that.
I can't believe I just wrote that, but I did.
@Tailslover13: There's always room for improvement! The season's only started, so there's plenty of time for Thorne to win you over. Whether or not she does, it's still something to keep in the back of your head.
But yeah, Lake's probably not going to be in my top favorites for this season.
@ChronoAlone: I'm just going to keep calling him Lewis, since it's kinda clear that Brandi's last name is also Lake, so calling one by their first name and one by their last is just...weird. I don't care if Jeff does it. It's Brandi and Lewis to me.
And, I seriously doubt I'll start liking Thorne. Maybe if she started to smile and actually be more SOCIAL, I'd consider it. Even Bowser is more social than her!
@Tailslover13: Fair enough.
Well, Bowser IS a Mario character. Not many characters from those games are really anti-social. I guess.
@ChronoAlone: One of the charms of the games.
@Tailslover13: or she might go the way of Sin and get 11th place both times
@Misterjakester : Yeah, that's a possibility. Sin was an interesting case. He played passive and nice the first time and got 11th. He played dirty and cuthtroat the second and got 11th. Basically, one way or another, he just wasn't cut out to play the game. Thorne looks like she's going to play the same way twice...but she's just with new people (and her sister) this time. So, we'll see.
@Tailslover13: I get why u don't like her but she is way better then Bonnie. Thorne at least isn't trash. Plus out of this tribe i only don't like Casidy, Eli, Lake, Rosella
@Crazy fan : Thorne is still a criminal, which is still pretty trashy to me. If you did anything...ANYTHING to wind up in jail or incarcerated, you're scum. I may not be perfect (far from it), but I would NEVER wind up doing something to land myself in jail. Thorne has, and that's yet another part of her that makes me sick. She should give me a reason to WANT to root for her or WANT to see her succeed and have redemption...but she isn't.
@Tailslover13: Partly true but i still hate Eli more. Plus out him and Thorne Eli is a bigger threat.
@Crazyfan: Oh yeah, he definitely is. You got that right.
I can already sense Thorne will have a bigger role this season than in SFC15, which I'm all for. I really like her dynamic with Sierra thus far. It's clear Thorne doesn't like her sister that much, but she's willingly working with her. It's kinda neat.
@ChronoAlone: Considering Thorne wasn't even IN SFC15, obviously she's gonna have a bigger role here.
Something I just noticed, half of the returning contestants have the same outfits from the last time they played instead of new ones. Any reason why?
@Misterjakester : easier for SWSU maybe?
@Misterjakester : here's some guesses:
thorne is still in jail, bonnie doesn't give a crap, damon might be wearing a uniform? not sure on that one. tialaya, i'm not sure on either, but she got a redesign. bowser is bowser. can't mess with perfection! he also got a new sprite. i think those are all the people in the same outfit.
swsu edited all their sprites slightly (larger feet, different colors), so there was still some work done on the ones wearing the same outfit.
There are subtleties to the way of negotiating in Survivor. Unless you are Bonnie, when your negotiation skills are literally a piece of shit smeared on a picture of everyone.
Yeah Thorne nailed it right on the head. In Survivor 'let's not make decisions until we have to' is 34 times outta 35 code for we're in charge you are on the chopping list.
I see Thorne brushed up on her multi-lingual skills before coming to the island.
But yeah, I REALLY hope the other tribe loses first. I have a really hard time seeing Bonnie not leave first if they do, because absolutely no one likes her except for SORTA her therapist. And out of the people on the chopping block for this tribe, Cassidy's really the only one I wouldn't miss.
On that note though, I have a hard time seeing Eli go out while doing absolutely nothing. Honestly, it may be part of his meta-game plan here already, and Cassidy seems to be following in his footsteps. So if this tribe does lose it seems it'd be Thorne....or Rosella, if they can pull Brandi over. I'd be very fine with Rosella going early.
catching up with this comic again... thorne does seem to be sort of a mean sadsack, huh? at least she's not bonnie lol. they have different brands of "mean sadsack", i'd say. it's hard to put my finger on what it is, though. i do think she'll stick around for a while, but i'm not sure how. maybe sierra is secretly good at survivor.
Is there a reason that there are more comics than usual before the first immunity challenge? It's almost always 7 comics before Day 3 Immunity, but for this season it's been 11 comics so far. Is something going to happen, or is this an extended premiere? I wonder.
Read what Jeff says in this and it'll explain what you just asked.
@Tailslover13: Ah, alright. I must've just glanced over it. Thanks.
Yus~ Thorne sees the writing on the wall, and she's not goin' down without a fight. She's also showin' her sister the ins-and-outs of the game, which is good too... even if it's in her usual "blunt" manner... Also, am I a Fuck-Trophy? Is everyone a Fuck-Trophy?
Thorne might be off-putting to a lot of people, but I don't think she's a bad person. Or at least not as bad as someone that's out to kill you. Except maybe the person that Thorne actually killed. Did she kill a person, even? I'm curious.
Damn Thorne getting her game on. Kinda hoping she turns things against Eli and Cassidy, cuz they are by far the least interesting people on this tribe, maybe even on the whole season.
Well, it would have surprised me if Thorne simply accepted to be a first boot candidate. Remembering the rock throw in her first immunity challenge I wouldn't be surprised if she's ready to fight dirty again.
I doubt a different approach is more promising at the moment. I can understand why Sierra suggested Rosella but oh dear... once Vinnie finds out about that suggestion he won't be amused.
It's hard to say, honestly. Thorne playing powerball this early on could either help her run deep by pushing other people under the bus... or they cotton on to her as a threat early and send her packing, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
LAKE! COME TO YOUR SENSES MAN! ROSELLA HAS TO DIE!!
OR BETTER YET, VOTE YOUR OWN DAUGHTER! BE THE REVERSE CIERA!!
I don't really care for Thorne all that much. All I remember her doing is voting out Spinfur to stop him from pulling off a Cherman-esque deep run, and that's it. Also, she's a convicted murderer. Kinda hard to get behind that.
I can't see Eli going home first at this point, despite the fact that he's clearly the biggest threat on the tribe. Maybe if Rosella proves to be pretty good in challenges for some reason, we might see Mr. Edgic as the first boot.
