Fan Characters will be competing for $1,000,000.
And the Firey Redhead Flames out. Sylvia is out of the game.
I don't think I need to explain why Sylvia was a big character in the season, extremely competant, great personality, able to connect with others and have dynamic relationships. Her story was one that I knew would be playing a big part this season regardless, especially as one of the few normals that could stand up to the Super Tribe. She was a force against the antagonists of the season, Tamara and Brandi, with a little less towards Cordelia and Shaega.
Sylvia had all of the right ideas most of the season, her problem was that she was unable to control the votes to make use of her moves, due to others having their own agenda, or just not cooperating. I did see some complaints with Sylvia once the merge hit about her making some dumb moves, and while I admit her gameplay wasn't perfect, I think she got a little too much flack. She was in a solid alliance with Cordelia and Marie so she had no reason to flip on them, Zach and Ky were threats from the oppossing side that she would be stupid to keep in. She was one that led the charge in the F7 and F6 vote.
The problem that she faced was not considering everyone a threat, Dustin was never seen as a threat, or someone she expected to blindside him. Taro was just the guy who fed her for most of the season, so of course she wouldnt see him as a player, and Shaega played such a bad game at the start of the merge she discounted him, while keeping the focus on the others.
So at the end of the day, Sylvia was a great character and helped make SFC15, she may not have played a perfect game, but it might be worth taking a step back and looking back at, and despite being a redhead. She kept positive most of the time, only acting out when she needed to.
Well, Taro officially has this game in the bag. Still would have preferred Shaega leaving, but Im glad we now definitely have a good winner. As for Sylvia. She was an average character Id say. Not super amazing, but likable enough, and she would have made a decent back winner if Taro wasnt able to pull it off.
@DrMarble: Don't count your chickens before they hatch
MAN this one feels good! I've had to deal with Sylvia gushers from the start of the season until right now, and it had gotten BEYOND the point of irritating. Ky at least deserved the love he got. Brandi deserved both the hate and the respect she got. Marie deserved the love she got. Sylvia did NOT warrant all the gushing and admiration from certain people, and stupid opinion or not, it's pathetic. And now that she got sent packing hilariously by the hand of none other than Dustin himself, that's just icing on the cake. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Never again will I get fooled by a redhead...unless it's Marie, in which case it's alright. Redheads are most of the time nothing but trouble.
Sylvia herself was a huge disappointment. Yes, I will admit she started off likable and cute, and partnering with the dumb blond surfer was enjoyable to see happen. But, whereas Leah just became irrelevant after a while and just never went anywhere interesting, Sylvia deteriorated into bitchy, cocky, obnoxious, bratty mode. Her redhead genes came out in full force when things began to not go her way, and that was not pleasant to see. Ky and Marie never allowed themselves to fall victim to going out-of-character, so that's no excuse. And the whole "she gets crabby when she's hungry" shtick doesn't hold water, either, because the second you set food on that beach, your eating habits change. And, when Sylvia was in scenes with Ky, like when he hugged her, or when he was serving her sushi, she was pleasant! So, yeah, the fact is she was just a cocky bitch. She got into arguments with Tamara when they could've worked together. She fought with Leah over an idol. She waited FAR too long to bother going after Brandi, despite saying she hated having her around. When she was in a majority, she dismissed the Normals and treated them like crap, despite voting out Tamara and saving Sylvia's ass and getting no appreciation for it. She sides with Shaega simply because he gives them majority, despite AGAIN apparently not liking what he's doing. Sylvia is just a fake, two-faced bitch. If things go her way, she's either cocky or arrogant. If they don't, she's bitchy and whiny. She allows anything to happen so long as it's not her neck on the line, and ultimately she would up to be just as "entertaining" as Leah...which was not at all.
HungryScorpion (Sylvia's creator), you're a great guy, so don't feel down. Your girl made it to 4th place, and she was one non-Taro immunity challenge win away from possibly a final 3 appearance and possible win. Even if I personally hated her in the end, don't let that get you down. I'm sure many other people will point out her positives over all the negatives I detailed, and the point is to win...so she was very close. Props to that.

PERFECT - Taro is still awesome; not as great as Ky, and he'll never be, but he's still great. People need to stop hating on him and listing stupid reasons why what he did was horrible. He was TRYING to stay in the game. When you're against three idiots who are CLEARLY sticking together, you can't do what Cherman did, or what others before him did. Taro just did what he had to, and it WASN'T dirty. If you still seriously hate Taro for what he did...then you need to hate Shaega, too. Shaega actually messed with peoples' minds, which is the EXACT same as Taro messing with their bodies. One is emotional torture, and the other is physical torture. THEY'RE THE SAME DAMN THING! Besides, Taro apologized, healed them up, owned up to it, and was pissed off that they voted out Ky. LET IT GO! Either you hate BOTH Taro and Shaega for what they've done, or you just let everything go and just let it be. You can't have it both ways. Taro is awesome, end of story. And he's winning this. Dustin and Shaega have no shot. Period.
HATE - Nice work on once AGAIN proving why you aren't winning this game, Dustin. People seriously thinking you're going to win and actually jumping on your bandwagon need their heads examined. BADLY. Dustin is nothing more than Taro's puppet. I'll be shocked if he gets ONE jury vote at this point. No one will care that Taro poisoned anyone; what they DO care about is an entire GAME of idiocy, irritation, and moronic behavior from Dustin. He is NOT winning. He's an idiot, and it stopped being funny at the end of the pre-merge. Once the merge hit, Dustin has been awful. Period.
LOATHE - Shaega is still a bully, an asshole, a piece of shit, and at this point he's just there for his downfall. He has no purpose left. Dustin's purpose is to be humiliated by the jury. Taro's purpose is to win. Shaega's purpose is for a downfall, so either we're getting a surprise final 2 and Shaega gets cut in 3rd place somehow, or he also gets zero votes and gets disgraced by the jury just as badly as Dustin. Either way, he's done. I "liked" him more when he was an emotionless bore. Right now, he's nothing but a selfish, hateful, annoying jackass. Period.
@Tailslover13: Well the season ended up with 10 liked and 10 not. That's fair
@SWSU-Master: I'll make a final assessment once I see the winner and how the season ends. A few things might change. It depends. These are just spur-of-the-moment feelings. So, yeah, at the moment, I like the season. If Taro wins. If he doesn't, it's near the bottom for me.
@Tailslover13: If Taro doesnt win, considering the only options remaining, then this entire season would amount to a giant "fuck you" to the audience.
@DrMarble: The season already took a hit with Ky leaving instead of Taro, and us having to deal with morons whining about Taro's "morals" and the whole poisoning thing. If Ky was here, it'd be much better. But, still, if Taro wins, it's still the best remaining outcome.
@Tailslover13: I think Im alone in that I was rooting for Taro over Ky :P
@DrMarble: I have no idea why. Ky was better than Taro in every way and you know it, deep in your heart. But, whatever, doesn't matter now.
@DrMarble: So.. SFC 14?
I'm still bitter about Jake.
@Tailslover13: just curious.... just where are you seeing the Sylvia likers... 'cause I ain't seen any on SJ for a while....
@qazox: Most of them on are Deviantart; I just like to copy my comments from one site to another, because why bother making new ones? I alter things here and there, though.
@Tailslover13: that's what I'd figured that there'd be more over on Deviantart.
I have a feeling everyone here's going to call that author comment bullshit XD Not a single person left here liked her in the slightest.
Glad she's gone, honestly. But this just solidifies Taro as the winner. Kinda removes any tension, but whatever.
@ChronoAlone: I sort of liked her. I dont understand why everyone hated her. She wasnt amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but I dont understand all the vitriol she received.
@DrMarble: Probably because she wasn't Ky *Shrugs*
@ChronoAlone: I'm sure there's some tension left to be had
@ChronoAlone: I think more people would have liked her if she'd had some screentime or character development premerge. And afterwards, all her character development was negative.
Yeah yeah Taro keeps owning everything I get it SWSU...
And wtf the previous challenge wasn't called "final immunity challenge" and the tagline for the finale mentioned three challenges, so...why are they going back to camp? Isn't this a F2?
@Vilecheese: I have a feeling that someone might get voted out at the the FTC, preferably Shaega, because I want to see the jury rip Dustin to shreds.
@DrMarble: You misspelled "preferably Taro".
@Vilecheese: Owning everything isn't that big of an accomplishment when he's only started being active in the last 2-3 episodes tbh.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place... and with only the company of an idiot. Still, it's a pretty damn good run. Way better than I would do, that's for sure.
Jeff's words do nothing to comfort me... and I would agree with Sylvia: I haven't the slightest who would win. But that's what the other commentators are for!
@RedBeryl: Jeff aint here to comfort
My Pre-Season Fave Has Left The Building
I actually really liked Sylvia a lot and am sad to see her go! She wasn't a bitch she played the game and was fueled by a competitive spirit. She targeted people that would make her winning the season harder and of course everyone hates characters that try to take out their favorites(@ the Ky super fans). I've never had my pre-season favorite ever go this far so it's super awesome that she made it here! People just can't handle a girl that has an attitude that isn't demure and shy, shocker! What a great character! Can't wait for her to return and win All-Stars!
@JboyInc: She was controversial to say the least, which after the premerge is a little shocking
"What started with 20, now rests at 3 men. ... tomorrow is when you win, you lose, or *you go home*."
>you go home
Also, last challenge wasn't Final Immunity. So idk what'll happen, but tomorrow's day 39 but there's still another vote.
Sylvia's so bitter wtf. You know, I guess it makes sense with her character but you'd think she'd also be pissed at Shaega and Taro but idk.
@coolkyledude: Well, Dustin DID vote for her. I can see why she'd be a little bitter, he was her main ally the entire season.
@coolkyledude: Well fir Shaega it's a "We voted against each other so I can't hate you thing" And Taro's hinky vote isnt as big of a slap in the face as Dustins vote
@SWSU-Master: True @ both you and @day4yc. That makes enough sense.
Although to be fair you'd think she'd recognize that Shaega was his ally from early on as well. That, plus the fact that she's a threat and she had a much better shot at winning.
Although like I said it fits her character so it's fair enough.
@coolkyledude: The problem is that she's been clisrly aligned with Dustin since the beginning, getting swapped together and all. She has said she considers him a friend and refused to vote against him when it was clear everyone was writing his name down.
Shaega was with them for a while, messed up the Freddy vote, got swapped into a different and turned ou to be a sociopath with an evil spirit by his side. I don't think she expected much from him. I don't even think Sylvia liked him. Besides, he was obviously closer to Dustin and they were voting against each other.
Taro and Sylvia were together since the swap, and she often attended the sushi shack. However, they were never together in the same alliance since the merge. Besides, they voted off Ky at the last TC. Taro never "owed" her anything.
SWEET! Really glad Sylvia left over Shaega, because I think she was the only person left that was real competition for Taro. Buuut, sounds like there is one challenge left, so I'm not gonna hold my breath on the Taro win just yet.
Also, can we talk about what a great move that was on Taro's part? His whole strategy has been shifting the blame for everything onto other people (in this case Dustin), and it's been working pretty well so far. Remains to be seen if the jury will give him credit for this, but it's pretty cool to watch all the same.
Rankings (likelihood of winning):
Taro > Dustin/Shaega (I honestly think they have an even chance of winning at this point, doesn't seem like a lot of the jury are big Dustin fans)
@dat4yc: But do they like Dustin over Shaega?
@SWSU-Master: Yeah... probably not.. but anything's possible!
And the final competitor has fallen.....
Taro....really does win unopposed now. Worse thing is that I kinda predicted this. I'm also surprised no one thought to ask Sheaga if he cares to stay in the game. Cause he really sounds indifferent to it. Perhaps she could have worked a deal with him.
As for Sylvia herself, I liked her fairly well as a character. Not sure that I'd call myself a fan, but I liked her for the most part, and spent more than my fair share of time defending her in the comments for one reason or another. Speaking of which....
@SWSU: I'm fairly certain I know why Sylvia got as much flack as she did this season. It's actually one of the points I plan to bring up in my end-of-season rant. And once again, I apologize in advance if I'm overtly critical when I do it but....it's something that I just kinda feel like I need to do.
Edit: Btw, random question SWSU (while you're answering comments). Have you played and/or looked into Undertale? The character that I talked about submitting a while back is an Undertale character, and I feel a lot of stuff makes more sense for what I did with the character if you know the game, and would take a lot of explanation if you don't. This uncertainty has sorta made me procrastinate heavily on submitting him~
@anime9001: Yeah, and Undertale is a series with alot of potential, I just only discovered it when I was done with the prep work for this season. But I'd be up to using people from it later
@SWSU-Master: Good to hear :)
....Now I just need to hope he's not overly complicated. Probably gonna fail at that~
Dslyexically Askew (Not Orthogonal)
Ehh, she's fine. I can't really blame her for a lot of the stupid things she did, unlike her friend. While I may not have been on her side, I'll definitely take her over Dustin or Shaega any day.
The Sylver Surfer ship has crashed. Wonder how Dustin feels about it now, months after this episode aired?
[plays guitar riff]
From his garage, it's Totally Kyle!
Um, one time, my bro Dustin was like, "I'm gonna be on TV!" But then, like, he couldn't go, cuz he couldn't finish the, um, IQ test. So he called me on his phone, and was all, "Dude, you should totally, like, take my place... cuz you're smarter than me!" And I was all... "Okay!" So there was, like, this giant bear dude... who cooked for us, you know? And he, um, made us sick... but he's cool now! And then he wanted me to vote my friend Slyvia... [almost trips over cord] oh, but her name was actually Sylvia... or this Shaman dude, who, like, plays with ghosts, you know? So, I, like... voted off Sylvia, and I think she really hates me now. And then, we had pancakes, you know, in the morning... okay.
That was Totally Kyle!
Totally! [repeats guitar riff]
Yes, I'm calling stolen identity. The real Dustin has brown hair and has been dead for three years.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: *tries to imagine someone who is dumber then Dustin*
*Shivers in terror*
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Okay that was great XD
@SWSU-Master: Been waiting a long time to make that joke.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Lol i don't know what the fuck is the reference but I'm dying right now someone please help XD
@coolkyledude: Look up "Totally Kyle" on YouTube.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: so apparently nickelodeon created a documentary of me without my knowledge
and it's fucking amazing
there are so many levels of irony to this I can't even begin to comprehend any of this
Called the 2-1-1, just aimed at the wrong person...
@qazox: It;s the thought that counts
This. Season. Is. Awful. In terms of unwatchability, Battle of the Tribes is closer to the original All-Stars than SWSU's All-Stars was. It repeats the same problem All-Stars had in that a lot of the cast took a turn for the worse, while also having SFC7's trait of having a cast severely lacking in positive characters. Oh, and by the way, half of Corsona's back. I almost want to blame Season 10's quality entirely on this mound of cyanide pills again.
I had to read this story twice in the span of three months. It has not been a good year for me. I don't want this to take any longer than it absolutely has to, so let's jump right in to the two most notable problems.
Bonnie's back. Again. Apparently, SFC has as terrible a group of lawyers as Total Drama does, because they'll allow any threat to humanity back for another shot. Brian Heidik shot at a puppy with an arrow; there's no way he's coming back now. This bitch, meanwhile, gets away with breaking someone's leg on camera. This is someone who very clearly had nothing to gain from coming out here a second time. She seemed to realize this as well, because Bonnie just wasn't trying anymore, by which I mean she wasn't trying anymore at *anything*. It's like she was veering into extreme sociopath territory, and even worse, no one ever bothered to properly dispose of her. The fact that she made it to the Final Three has to be the result of witchcraft. Good riddance.
One MOOOOOOORE thing!
That's right, of all the popular characters who returned, Jackie was the one who was, allegedly, ruined the most. I say that because I didn't see any difference between the SFC8 Jackie and this Jackie. It's the same overbearing loudmouth whom I didn't like that much to begin with. Yes, he won by giving Bonnie another well-deserved slaughter, but unlike Cherman, I was not the least bit impressed with what I saw. Look, dude, you tried. You tried giving Bonnie another epic breakdown, but it was so half-assed I couldn't even react to it. That was apparently enough for the Jury to vote him over Minerva, who was much better this time around. Okay, maybe his win had more to do with his immunity run, but that wasn't that spectacular either. The only reason I can think of as to why I would ever vote for Jackie is because he won that torture chair challenge, which is a perfect fit for this season. If the audience has to sit in pain, let's have the competitors sit in even more pain... er, numbness.
I feel very confident in saying that we will not have another All-Star season for a while. Maybe we'll have a half-and-half season soon, but not another full returning player season until we get something good.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: *Slow clap* My thoughts exactly. I believe even SWSU admits that this season is terrible. There is next to nothing redeemable to take from this season. While the first All Stars had a few characters either stay or become even more awesome, pretty much everyone on this season became worse. Fuck. Battle. Of. The. Tribes.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Yeah, this season frankly sucked. Chloe was up to her usual crap, Bonnie wasn't really there to do anything other than be a horrible human being, and Jackie lost most of his sympathy points. The one thing I liked about this season is his faked injury play in the final Immunity Challenge, and he was so smug about winning that it marred the mild feeling of contentment I had. Not a good season.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Eh...I don't LOATHE the season as much as you guys seem to do...but I do hate it. Phil and Jackie were both great for me, honestly. I loved the both of them, and I'm GLAD Jackie beat Minerva. I don't know, I guess I just didn't hate this one as much as others because it at least made me FEEL something. Seasons like SFC7 and SFC8 were just so dull and lifeless to me and left me really depressed by the end. SFC11 just made me want to kill myself. So...I hate all three of those seasons more. This one at least had a happy ending (for me), and I was proud of Phil.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Honestly I feel very confident in saying you're wrong. There are A LOT of characters from the past 5 seasons who could/should return. More than you can fit on a 10 person ''Favorites'' tribe. Not to mention all the potential returnees from the first 9 seasons..
But I agree that if we get an All Stars, we really need something GOOD.
Goodbye, Sylvia! She wasn't a bad character at first. But as I'm fond of saying, after the merge she lost all her social skills and 30 IQ points. A character with potential that she never lived up to. I don't think anybody really liked her, honestly. Taro's got this game in the bag, considering that Shaega gets off on people's suffering and Dustin just backstabbed his most solid ally in front of the Jury.
@Sonofhades: I think her problem was she just got overloaded with stress from nothing going right
Overall, If I may say so, I knew ALL about the eventual hatred that Sylvia had just apparently "gobbled-up" once the merge hit. True that she did become a little MORE "serious" about trying to Win the game once the merge hit. But still, it did NOT really warrant all of that sudden hatred, even IF all competent villains left LONG by now (Shaega is of course a VERY useless villain in general, a joke perhaps, but otherwise NOT very useful).
For me, I always just KNEW that 1 way or another, Sylvia would ALWAYS be the last normal girl standing. & to take 4th overall, is still REALLY damn-well impressive, as she otherwise WOULD have won this game w/out Taro being forced to poison them all. Now, Idk if she does warrant another appearance after this here, but you MUST admit that, fan or not iten, she played VERY well indeed. But she was just UNLUCKY that numbers often did NOT follow through for her PREFERED choice overall.
W/ that, Taro just needs to SOMEHOW get to the REAL FINALS (VERY likely Mental in his GREATEST favor overall), & afterwards, he can win easy, & we can get out of here to get a BIG rest for next season.
@Yumichika Time: Yeah, the numbers and allies were what did her in.
@SWSU-Master: thanks. & did you get my extra info earlier bac?
Oh god, who need enemies when you have "friends" like Dustin?
I feel sorry for Sylvia, she played a nice game and besides her emotional outbursts she still was one of my favourite normals this season, only beaten by Marie. She could tell right from wrong, something Brandi totally lacked and while she was responsible for Ky's departure as well, I don't have much to critize. Too bad she's not a finalist.
Time for Ky to prepare the Taro victory party, I pity every jury member who still intends to vote for Dustin and Shaega.
@SkySurfer: Just hope that there isn't any premature celebration. Just in case
I don't get all the Sylvia hate tbh. She was okay, I mean, but she wasn't the awful person everyone is making out her to be. I like her, and I appreciate what she brought to the season.
Well all I can say is everyone will enjoy the shitstorm that will arise if Taro somehow goes home before FTC (assuming there's one more vote and challenge).
Taro obviously beats either Dustin and Shaega at this point. Even though he poisoned players to win immunity cheaply, clearly the jury had no reaction to it, or they approve of it. Not to mention he apologized so... if he loses he won't lose because of the poisoning.
While I still think Dustin wins if he's up against Shaega, I think the vote clearly became more even after he voted off Sylvia.
Oh my god.... If Taro leaves before FTC I'll be so pissed. If our winner is the moronic Dustin or evil sociopathic Shaega this season will turn from a great one into one of the worst imo.
Goodbye. No one will miss you. You were boring and overrated to start with, and after that damn tribe swap you got even worse. And then got worse from there.
Can I just say real quick that this season got pretty bad after the tribe swap, and didn't pick up again util after the double boot? But that's besides the point.
First all male final 3, cool. There is a.. Imbalance, in the genders of winners. 8 females and only 6 males. It's a good idea to balance that out a little more.
Are we gonna have the first ever day 39 immunity challenge? OH SHIT WHAT IF THE JURY GETS TO VOTE ONE OF THEM OFF? That would be so cool.
@Blastoise_FTW: Dustin would probably be so screwed if that is the case. XD
