Fan Characters will be competing for $1,000,000.
This is just a great day for Sylvia isn't it?
Eh, she deserves it. Two-faced asshat.
But on a related note, I'm seeing a lot of red flags for a Sylvia boot this time around. That, or she's going to consider booting Dustin. Not sure if that'll make people like her more though. Regardless, at least she's still keeping her options open. Certainly doesn't make her likeable though.
@ChronoAlone: This is true. I don't think blindsiding Dustin would gain her any fans, but thinking of eliminating him is a pretty decent move. However, as you said, this could all just simply be setting up for a fall as well.
Screw Sylvia so hard. My God I'm sick of her at this point. She picks fights with Tamara...and now Leah and Brandi. Can she EVER shut her goddamn freaking mouth? I'm so over her. Get this stupid redhead OUT. She is what I thought she was from the very start; I can't believe I was ever fooled into liking her.
Oh, and yeah, get stupid Dustin out. Stop saying Ky and Zach are the biggest challenge threats just because they're Supers; Dustin has been showing off more than they have. Idiots.
@Tailslover13: Dustin's not better then them in the challenges, though. Yes, he's been winning, but physically he can't beat them.
For the Supers, though, he IS their biggest competition. But to the Normals, he shouldn't. They already made that mistake once.
@Tailslover13: i like bubble spouts
Yeah, I don't think she even got her Ky Special yet.
Dustin better win immunity, cause if Sylvia does he's gone.
I liked Sylvia at first, but her incompetence is turning me against her rapidly. She's going this episode if she keeps poking the bear. As for Taro, I'm glad he's Hatching it up right now. He's indispensable and invisible.
Feeling the love right now :p
@HungryScorpion: Don't worry, I still like her :p
I feel a lot of people got turned off from her not being friendly with the Supers, who are the favorites at the moment besides Marie. Like, she hasn't been the NICEST player, but it's mostly just her position in the game at this point.
@anime9001: So that brings her support count to 0. Awesome. (She had a -1 support count before.)
But honestly, can she vent save herself? No matter what her position is, she's going against a fan favorite. She can't be salvaged.
@HungryScorpion: Hm.....honestly? In the eyes of the fans? You're probably right. Depends how her story ends though. If she mends her tides with the Supers people may come around on her again. We'll just have to wait and see though. Best of luck~
@HungryScorpion: You're Sylvia's creator?
Fuck the haters, fam. Sylvia is(was?) great. She has the best alliance after all.
That said, RIP her. She's not surviving this episode.
@HungryScorpion: Nah, Sylvia's great. For some reason most commenters like to shit on any character with flaws or character traits. She's much more interesting than some other fan favourites that people won't shut up about.
@Thorne: But not when those flaws or traits start to mess with who you are as a person and what we've come to know and like. Then it just turns you into a bitch and a two-faced fraud that we're not supposed to like. There's a difference between being "flawed" and "relateable" and just being true to yourself and being liked for that.
Okay, from this point forward, the Golgoras are dead in the water. Any hope those three have had at making the finals are officially gone as of right now. Why does everyone like Sylvia again? (My only issue with her is her sudden lack of awareness to whatever she's doing, like she's demonstrating here. Other than that, I don't think she's that bad.)
EDIT: We just going to ignore the fact that Taro looks like he's threatening Sylvia with a cleaver?
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Idk, I actually think people are liking her less.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Agreed. The only thing I dislike about her is her sudden lack of awareness, which I'm not sure is a fault of the character. Like, she's been shown to be fairly competent for most of the game... and suddenly she's talking about booting Taro to his face? What? N-no. That's not a thing that makes sense.
I love how Sylvia keeps getting annoying and showing her true colors when she's clearly fed. I mean, they're barely fed back in old Golgora yet we didn't really see this side of her. How ironic. Hoping for a Dustin boot or her boot.
~ Taro casually standing there and making sushi <3 ~
Wow Brandi is coming off as both logical and even a little likable in this comic! What's the world coming to!
Also on a negative note, Sylvia seems to be losing all the fans she had at the beginning. She comes across as a little complainy and inept, especially in the more recent comics. Kinda disappointed, I liked her in the beginning.
@dat4yc: It's her fault. She deserves the hate.
@ChronoAlone: Oh, it's all on her. Just kinda sad that someone I was rooting for early on has turned this bitchy.
@dat4yc: I don't feel sad. At all. She can go die in a hole.
@ChronoAlone: Damn harsh XD
I'd like to point out that it's really interesting that when there's not a competent villain in the game for the collective hate to gravitate towards, people seem to latch onto the most negative person they can and really hate them.
Or perhaps it's because we have such likeable characters left and she's against them? I'm not sure which. Yeah, Sylvia's not at the top of my list at the moment, but I like just about everyone left, and the momentum change of the crowd for Sylvia has been somewhat startling, to say the least.
@anime9001: But it's been a long time coming because it's just been building up higher and higher. Ever since Sylvia battled Tamara, she's been going downhill. She had that bitchy fight with Leah for the idol...and then she sucked up to Brandi at the merge, only to flip right back around and vote against her just to spite her...and then lobbied to get Ky out when she had spent a long time with him, being cocky and arrogant and dismissive to Leah/Zach all the while...and now, when she isn't getting her way, she just acts bitchy and rude. Not to mention she was really stupid by talking strategy in front of Taro the other day. So, it's just a snowball effect, and people are starting to catch on. It's not like it happened overnight.
@Tailslover13: To be honest though, none of those were malicious actions. Most of them are a combination of strategic or emotional actions. Like, she did have to take a side, and love him or....ok, love him still, because no one can hate Ky, he IS a big threat in this game. The arrogant attitude in front of Leah and Zach is the only thing I particularly agree with. Also, I'm fairly certain the whole Taro thing was meant to show Taro's capabilities and not their idiocy (even though it came off that way). Seeing how SWSU writes, I'm certain that was his intention, I just think the note fell flat.
While this may not have happened overnight, this late in the game people have to pick their sides. Usually this is easier with SWSU having some form of jerk villain that everyone can collectively hate, but without them, people are rooting for the very likeable characters and hating their opponents.
Like....Sylvia didn't even do anything jerk-like in this comic. She has her allies and is caught off guard when eliminating one of them is brought up on the table. But because her allies are less liked than....well, pretty much the rest of the cast at this point, people are unhappy when she tries to defend them.
I find this even more interesting because I could see Sylvia being the hero in a season with different characters, and Dustin much more liked than he is here. Of course, this is all my perception on the scenario at hand. Perhaps I'm wrong, but this is what I've garnered from this scenario.
@anime9001: Yeah, that's what is happening. The elimination of villains left us with a very "positive" group so SWSU had to give us someone else "we couls hate". Because of Sylvia's attitude when she's hungry, she was the "right" character to make extra negative. It isn't just her, but her whole group. Shaega is some kind of serious villain that fails everytime, and Dustin's stupidity has been highlighted more im recent times. Compare this to the Taro/Ky duo and Marie, including Marie and Taro's attempt at taking out villain Cordelia. And then we have New Brandi, who is even likable now. Then you have Zach, who seems to be nice, albeit a bit boring. Leah isn't as negative as she could be portrayed. She gets a pass for being associated to the others. It's come to the point that people say Dustin is a bigger physical threat than Ky, who has susperstrength and superspeed, because he's won a team reward, an immunity, and a reward in which he placed behind both Ky and Zach. Meanwhile, Ky was second in the log-running challenge during in the double TC episode, won merge immunity, demonstrated his impressive physical capabilities in theteam reward challenge, and has now made an incredible jump to place first for reward. I think it's justified.
@anime9001: This is pretty much true, honestly. There are no truly malicious or competent villains left to hate, so now we're projecting our hate onto the most incompetent member. Look at Shaega. He's the current contender for Big Bad, yet he's so incompetent as to be a nonentity. For what it's worth, I rather enjoyed Sylvia at first. It's a shame that out of nowhere she lost all of her competence and sympathy. Plus she is attacking a fan favorite.
@anime9001: Yeah I think this is probably the best way to sum up what's going on right now. I think everyone in the game right now is enjoyable in some way. Therefore, if one of them has even the slightest negativity associated with them, it becomes a lot easier to jump on them. I'd say Sylvia is probably my least favorite of the cast right now, but that is more a testament to how good this cast is as whole than it is about her as a character.
So much Sylvia focus cannot be a good sign. So it's either her boot episode or she will have to make a very difficult decision.
Sylvia's in the awkward position where she either sacrifices the chance for a bigger alliance by staying loyal to Dustin or be a traitor like Brandi was to Freddy.
I still don't hate Sylvia since Leah hasn't been a total saint either pre-merge but I don't see many survivors who would love to vote for her if she were a finalist...
Taro just sittin' there, wisely staying out of the way as those three do their sneaky strategeries... and for good reason: yeesh.
I don't think I fully grasp the situation. Lemme read some comments.
Ohhhhhhkay, none of that really helped much either. Is Brandi thinking of blindsiding Dustin? Why? I'm finding it a bit hard to find a plausible reason for such a move. Maybe in a later round, sure, but definitely not THIS TC.
I'm lost and confused. Maybe I should find the Cliff Notes on this comic...
Uhh... yeah Dustin's winning a lot of challenges... but a 20-something year old surfer dude is a no bigger threat then a chicken with a metallic arm and a werewolf. Dustin barely beat Leah anyway. Yeah, Dustin's winning a lot, but he's barely a threat compared to the supers minus Taro. Yes, even you Leah. If you tried you would cream Dustin.
Speaking of Leah, she sounded really entitled in her confessional. Yeah... you're a SUPER. You will be posed as a physical threat no matter what, especially given your powers with the Earth element. Throw challenges if you must but don't get pissy if people still see you as a threat.
Also... I didn't mention this a few comics ago, but because of the immense love for Ky I knew I would be ignored.
But personally I think the decision to vote off Cordelia was a stupid move. They should have voted off Ky. I know the fans wanted Cordelia gone, but for Brandi/Marie's games, they needed Ky gone.
@TJBambi93: Taro has won more challenges than Brandi. TARO IS A BIGGER CHALLENGE THREAT THAN BRANDI!!!
@Guest: That's kind of sad actually for Brandi's sake. XD
Sheesh, tons of drama in the comment section. I like Anime's point that because Cordelia, the main merge villain, is gone people are starting to dislike those who are least likable in comparison / easiest to find reasons to hate a lot more. Dustin, Sylv, and even Shaega really aren't that bad, and don't deserve the hate they're getting imo.
@Pie31415: Completely agreed.
@Pie31415: It doesn't have anything to do with that, honestly. It's just that the season is so good, and when that happens...and you don't have an actual competent villain at the moment...you get more passionate and hone in on other things to focus your dislike upon. Not to mention finding other things to root against. Say what you want, but you CAN'T just root for every single person left; you simply can't do that. So, you NEED people to root against, and thus you have to find reasons to do it. Unlike certain people on Deviantart, you can't just randomly hate someone for no reason.
@Pie31415: I agree that Dustin and Shaega don't deserve the hate. And while Sylvia probably doesn't deserve as MUCH hate as she's getting, I can see why she is getting some. For most people, there has to be an antagonist, and Shaega's hilarious incompetency kinda rules him out as a "true" antagonist, so Sylvia is the next easiest choice. Though tbh, the over the top hate she is getting from some people is a little overboard...
Yeah fuck Sylvia.. Dumb gluttonous bitch. I seriously hope Shaega kicks her ass to the curve this episode.
And Leah has a good point.. Dustin is winning more challenges than both Ky and Zach, why isn't HE being targeted also?
