Fan Characters will be competing for $1,000,000.
Maybe he can do delivery.
*Resists urge to make a "that's what she said" joke for panel 6*
Nice to see a comic with no strategy in it, just living out in the wilderness and what people do to deal with it and such.
Yep, Tortana's far superior still.
Correct me if I'm wrong, SFC experts, but I believe this may be the first time we've experienced actual rainfall in this comic series.
This season is the Holes of Survivor Fan Characters. It took over nine years, but we finally got some rain!
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: I....think that's wrong? Might be, like, the third time, but I feel we've seen rain before. First time I think it was the entire point of a comic though I believe.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Sorry to burst your bubble but there was a ton of rainfall in season 12.
@Quizzical Pursuit: Of course it's one of the seasons I haven't binged yet. Thanks!
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: So does that mean you haven't gone through the series yet? Just out of curiosity, where are you at in that process?
@anime9001: I've read 1-8 in order, and then jumped ahead to 13. I'm almost finished with 14 at the moment, and I'm four episodes into 11.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Oh wow, so kinda jumpin all over the place. I chose to read them in order before reading current and was about half way through the first All Stars when I caught up. I was so confused when I reached it too, since the next button kept refreshing the page. I thought something was wrong XD
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: It rained the comic after Donovan infamously quit in SFC9 (sorry, spoilers, but...well, you shouldn't jump around like that). That's the one that immediately came to mind.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Heh, I'm no expert but I remember there was some rain on SFC11, too. Survivor Claus almost got hit by a lightning bolt
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: I get it, guys, this isn't actually the first time it has rained on this comic. No more responses please, okay?
Blame House of Pain for making me jump around seasons.
EDIT: It appears to have worked. That pun drove everyone away.
@GaryHawkinsLandscaper: Except me! ...I don't have anything to add, just felt like saying that.
This IS a rather relaxing comic for a change. I like the contrast it does by showing both perspectives as well. I do have to ask though, why does water NOT kill Juli? She mentioned water proof clothing, but....that doesn't sound like enough to keep you from disintegrating.
@anime9001: "Water-proof clothing" is a total handwave, much like everything else about Splatoon.
God Ky is the best.. Never knew someone could be so stupid and smart at the same time.
Like the multi-tribe perspective in this comic, good to see how everyone is reacting to the rain instead of focusing on the strategy of either tribe.
Also LOL at Cordelia's jab at Gekkota, starting to warm up to her.
So...one tribe has Gekkota being forced to be on her own due to being bullied by her tribe, along with a dumbass shooting things at the clouds, and two hateful bitches (Cordelia & Juli) complaining about everything. Nice. The OTHER tribe has Ky, Dustin and Taro to be positive forces through the mess, and...Leah with Zach aren't too bad when they want to be. Yep, pretty much what I expected.
@Tailslover13: Daisuke isn't a dumbass, you take that back! He's a perfect angel, same with Juli! She isn't hateful, she's funny.
@coolkyledude: Juli has been bitching and complaining the entire time she's been out there. Like Survivor Critic said in the previews at the start, she's nothing more than a whiny brat...who will throw anyone under the bus if it helps her remain. Cordelia is just better at it, but both are awful.
And I do like Daisuke, but...sorry, he really is stupid. He just is. It isn't a bad thing; sometimes, stupid wins the game.
@Tailslover13: Well, Juli's kinda been on the bottom the entire time. She has to do something or she's done for. And I can see why someone might be a little whiny when they've had nobody throw them a bone the whole time.
And Ky and Dustin are dumbasses too but you like them. How are they different?
@coolkyledude: Daisuke is a genuine dumbass. Ky and Dustin have proven to be smarter than they are given credit for. They are by no means intelligent, but the difference is, Brandi told Daisuke that coming from him it was smart, while Zach actually acknowledged what Dustin and Ky were doing was legitimately a smart idea. Not only that, but what they say. Dustin doesn't really reach Daisuke-level stupidity. I love all three, but while Dustin and Ky are stupid, they aren't Dai-level stupid.
@Joey the Badass Wheeler: this is a response to both of you guys
Alright, good points were made by both of you. I would argue, though, that just because Dustin and Ky had *a* good idea doesn't automatically make them geniuses... and after using the lid of the pot to store water, you can't seriously tell me that KY is smarter than Dustin. And Dustin has no idea what he's doing, game-wise.
I will say that, so far, Daisuke is definitely the dumbest of the three though, based on his reaction to 'Gekkota' attacking Juli and, y'know, using his powers on rain.
I hope we can agree that they're all great though ^_^
@coolkyledude: Dustin and Ky aren't dumb...well, okay, Dustin kinda is. Honestly, Ky shouldn't even be in that group. Dustin literally says stupid things and plays the blonde role very well. Daisuke...tries to make huge alliances, has no idea what he's doing, and just does dumb things, too. Ky...for one, he doesn't get into any situations to piss people off, and he isn't doing anything wrong whatsoever. Plus, his moments are less 'dumb' and more 'happy'. It's like he's simply being a child in an adult's body or something. What Dustin and Daisuke do is literally stupid; what Ky does is just...spirited and joyful. There's a difference.
That being said, I agree with Joey Wheeler; all three I still love. I just think Ky doesn't deserve to be called stupid like Dustin and Daisuke, because SWSU is making subtle differences to make them each unique in their own way.
@Tailslover13: I responded to both of you guys in my reply to Joey ^_^
@Tailslover13: Golgora is probably one of the few tribes that wouldn't get that many complaints if they were Pagonged.
Fun comic <3
Nothing really to comment on here, but Dustin and Ky are the best <3
No weather can stop the Mighty Taro!!
Hate to say it, but I feel bad for Gekkota. I mean seriously Cordelia is beyond shitty as fuck that I don't tolerate her anymore.
Juli is kinda getting on my nerves now with all her bitchin`.
This only reinforces my opinions of each tribe and the characters therein.
One small victory for Gekkota and the akward realization that even a high power level cannot compete with mother nature.
New Tortana still has the far better attitude so it hurts to know that they will have to go to TribalCouncil, too. At least there are two expendable tribe members who I'd like to see on the boot list
Now you know the pain of the rainy seasons there Juli. Not so wet in a canyon, but here, you got water everywhere. Good thing you have bullshit water protection other inklings don't have! :D
That said, Julianna, calm down. :P It can't be that bad.
Everyone keeps saying the Tortana tribe is the better tribe... but let's face it here. Lea is going to do something crazy soon. Then it don't be so much fun anymore. She's been awfully quiet lately.. methinks she WAS Gekkota at the end of the last pre-swap comic, since Gekkota never found an idol... so likely Lea has it.
@TJBambi93: Also Taro is comedy gold. :)
This is very refreshing, not so much strategy talk. Not even Gekkota is talking strategy!
Taro is the man. It's gotta take dedication to stand out in that rain, just to keep the business running.. Respect.
I think Taro's power is the ability to ignore everything but sushi.
