Fan Characters will be competing for $1,000,000.
DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!
Liz has done it!
While my favorite was Jojo, Liz definitely deserved it. I'm surprised Desmond voted her though.
Well, that was definitely a wild ride all the way through. This season... it's weird. Ignoring all the Jake stuff, which I'm still a little salty about, it was an alright season. Not amazing, but it could've been a hell of a lot worse. The cast was really fun and diverse, probably one of the best IMO, but the season in general and how it played out ended up being a little too predictable and un-fun at times. With the whole Jake fiasco... I dunno. I mean, his whole purpose was to troll everyone and it worked, so good on SWSU, but it ultimately was a waste of a slot and kind of a dick move.
Here are my season rankings, mainly because this was my first time reading live and I felt like it ^_^:
14: SFC12: FvC2 - Enter dominating the season, then when he left there was no one else to care about. Just, uuuuuuuuggggggghhhhhhh all around.
13: SFC10: BotT - Just another meh, predictable and annoying season with a certain Barbie character being a constant presence in the story, and, in my opinion, a less than satisfying boot order.
12: SFC8: MI - Same reasons as most everybody else - an obvious winner, a boring albeit pretty original twist, an overly OTT cast, and the Outcasts. Not an especially fun time, but not as bad as the above two.
11: SFC4: FvC - While this season doesn't do anything overly horrible other than let a villain slip by Tribal after Tribal, it's generally really forgettable aside from a few characters, along with a predictable winner and a boring runner-up.
10: SFC1 - The original! While it pioneered an amazing series that has been a lot of fun to read, it doesn't really hold a torch to the rest of the seasons. Unimpressive sprites and writing, somewhat one-dimensional characters, and a Gary Stu-ish winner. Can't deny the fact that it started something great, though.
9: SFC7 - This season had a unique pair of finalists, but both got there through very contrived means, and IMO they took the place of much better characters. Russell, while funny, lasted far too long. A great overall cast though.
8: SFC14 - Original, fun twist, a great cast, but with a predictable and sometimes boring order of events. Still salty about Jake.
7: SFC2: BvB - I dunno. Another oldie. It's this far down not because it did anything wrong, but because it didn't do as much right as the ones ahead of it. 'Sall I've got to say about this one.
6: SFC5: CI - The first polarizing season! I liked it. Wasn't perfect, but the cast was great for a group of applicants, and the curses worked well in the story. The winner was goodt, and the story was good.
5: SFCAS - I know a fair amount of people will disagree with this, but for an All-Stars season I actually quite liked it. Yeah, there were some predictable episodes, but in general I liked the character development and everyone's place in the story was justified... unlike another All-Star season.
4: SFC13 - While Tapioca brings this one down a notch, I really liked the cast of this season, and the arc villains idea worked out really well. A likable, potential-returnee-heavy season IMO and probably my favorite all-around selection of sprites.
3: SFC9 - The birthplace of the pink hat girl. Another all-around great season. A surprisingly high number of characters had an impact on the season, at least for a 20-person season. The downfall of Prescilla was great, and
2: SFC3 - The most popular season by far, and I definitely liked it too. Great cast, great winner and a great story. I rank it lower than 11 because the same group remained in power for much longer, plus I personally like the more Gabon-esque seasons. Still a great time though.
1: SFC11 - Diverse characters, dynamic power shifts, crazy moves, and a great winner. Sure, it was the center of some drama, but that has no bearing on the season itself so I'm not really counting it. Everyone had their place in the story and no one felt like a waste of a slot.
Character rankings for this season:
18: Amelia - Does this come as a surprise? It shouldn't. I've said all this before, but personally, I liked her SJW gimmick at the beginning of the season. Her first comic was dumb, but afterward, toned-down, I enjoyed her dynamic - particularly how she affected Mikah's boot. It was after she became super OTTN that she became unbearable.
17: Spinfur - I love how his journey through the game boiled down to getting voted out the first chance everyone got to do so. (/s) He was nothing but post-swap cannon fodder, and it's kind of sad.
16: Prussia - Ugh, she was just so boring. Her whole schtick was the great villain-flirt thing... but she utterly failed at it. I was just bored by her.
15: Adeline - Nothing major against her, but she quit and her relationship with Spinfur was kind of annoying.
14: Mikah - Yay, the early bitch boot. Oh well, I guess she did was she was meant to... I just didn't particularly care for what she was meant to do.
13: Buddy the Adventure Penguin - He was a funny little gag. I hate to say that he left at a good time before he got old.
12: Hunter - I liked what he had to do, as well as his rivalry with Stagg. He did get kind of offensive at points I guess, and he's only this low because I liked everyone else a little more than him. Yes, even Stagg.
11: Tyra - Meh. She was the "too nice for the game" one that always leaves early. She had no impact whatsoever and was just cannon fodder. Oh well.
10: Bradley - He HAS admittedly grown on me now that he didn't win, but I just did not care for him. I'm apparently the opposite of most people in that I actually liked him early on, with his rivalry against Stagg, but stopped caring for him when he became the hero of the season despite not being all that heroic.
9: Thorne - She was an interesting character. I'm not a big fan of the episode she left in, nor the reasons behind her exit, but she was definitely interesting. I liked her relationship with Liz.
8: Mac - He was the nice guy of the cast, and I liked him for most of his screen time. It's a shame he had very little impact on the season and that his boot was obvious though.
7: Liz - The amateur psychologist! It was generally interesting watching her relationship with Desmond, and I liked their relationship through most of the game. I'm curious though... what's going to happen between her (and Jojo) and Desmond now that the game's done? Did his outburst at the FIC ruin their friendship, or anything else they may have become?
6: Desmond - This is gonna be controversial... I've mentioned before why I liked him. Byakuya Togami, Miles Edgeworth, etc. I guess I just like characters like that. I wish he would've gotten a redemption arc, but his downfall was satisfying if a bit predictable.
5: Yukie - I like how you managed to redo Eli/Critic in yet another original way. I just wish that she hadn't been demoted to UTR background character after Hunter's exit.
4: Ivan - Fucked over by the psycho bitch :( If anyone from this season should return outside of the F5, it should be him. Put him on the second chance pool. I liked his story, being the wannabe mastermind screwed over by unpredictability.
3: Jojo - This might be a weird #2 spot but I actually really liked Jojo. Her and Mac was probably my favorite duo and Mac's boot kinda sucked after it split them up. I liked her character development.
2: Diego - MUAHAHAHA! The evil mastermind wins once again! AHAAAAHAA! He's such a big lovable oaf! It's like, you can't NOT like the guy. I'm not usually a fan of the failed villain type of character but Diego was an exception.
1: Umm... I can't seem to recall the last contestant... oh well. Shift everyone up one and put Jake as 18. I don't suppose you'll actually mention him now that the season's over?
I know I was kind of hard on this season, and I know I'm in the minority in saying that, but I guess I just didn't see it the same way as everyone else. That's not to say I didn't enjoy reading it, or speculating, or chatting with others because I did. I just didn't enjoy as much as the other seasons. This is by far the best looking season you've made so far, and I know for a fact I'll be back for the next season, whenever that may be. Keep up the good work, SWSU :)
EDIT: Fixed the weird question marks... don't know what the hell was up with those.
@coolkyledude: Desmond couldnt stay bitter.
@SWSU-Master: So he said :P
YAY! SOMEONE RELATED TO THORNE IN SOMEWAY WON! JUST AS I PREDICTED! XD
@Yo: What a weird prediction to be true
YAY LIZ! Pretty good winner imo.
Also this is the best even-numbered season since SFC2 easily, so good job breaking the curse SWSU!
@Vilecheese: That's a pleasant surprise to hear
@SWSU-Master: Yeah I know, it's almost like I didn't complain for one comic.
THE EVEN SEASON CURSE HAS BEEN BROKEN! REJOICE!
@Quizzical Pursuit: HOORAY!
Hehehe, Diego did screw up the "don't force the tie" plan - but in the other direction. I thought Prussia would vote Liz and Diego, thinking she'd voted Jojo, would vote Jojo. But it was the other way around.
Also surprising that Desmond came around, but I presume he came to the conclusion that in her position, he would have done the exact same thing, with even fewer qualms than Liz portrayed.
@landis963: Diego was supposed to vote Jojo with Prussia since Prussia was all CATty with Liz, but he backed out
good job liz! she was one of my favorites since the beginning of the season, so it's nice to see her get the win.
even that glitch thing... okay, now i know jake's story is over. i was holding out until the finale lol. but is seriously nobody questioning yukie's bizarre power to write a survivor season? she also has the power to create creepy glitchy people too.
might type up a ranking soon.
@SWSU-Master: Did you just day his name?! *Faints*
@SWSU-Master: well, that ends the story of the only sfc contestant to never get a confessional or even a single line of dialogue. unless "yoloin it up" counts.
I always knew she would win
@sesareee: Good call
@SWSU-Master: There were some really big hints she would win, but most time she was in danger, but she made to the final, so it was really obvious, we just had to wait to see her win
Good job, good job.
@people mentioning the even season curse, I still have no idea what you mean. I've never disliked a season yet, and that continues even now, even if this one made me question it a few days ago~
Pretty glad Liz won, it's been a long time...maybe ever since an immunity threat won a season. Anyway, really looking forward to SWSU's mockup to the season, and I sure hope SFC15 isn't...TOO far in the distant future :p
That's a response to both "even season curse" and "immunity threat winner".
@Vilecheese: I think Jackie was fine~ And I'm not sure if it counts to be an immunity threat winner when you sit out of several of the final rounds pretending that you're injured :p Probably does, but it's debatable~
@anime9001: Barney won too
@SWSU-Master: I think SFC4/SIX YEARS AGO (and 7 days, to be exact~) qualifies as a long time ago :p
@anime9001: I think the whole thing started with Seasons 8, 10, and 12. 8 had Melanie's incredibly predictable and contrived win, 10 had Jackie's character derailment, and 12 had Enter. (Though I honestly liked Jackie in 10, especially after that feigned injury ploy.)
@sonofhades: 10 had a LOT of character derailment, not just Jackie. Also Bonnie was legit a Russell Hantz expy meant to be taken seriously.
I've got a couple questions regarding #JakeIsFake2015...
1. Why did Jeff keep mentioning 18 contestants, despite not knowing who Jake was when Jojo brought him up?
2. Why did no one question the origin of the 10th vote in Jake's two TCs?
3. How did Jake end up on the F4 IC question if he, by all accounts, didn't participate in the game?
@coolkyledude: Adding on to your questions, I still haven't received an answer to why the finale preview said there were only going to be two tribal councils.
@coolkyledude: 1. 18 is a nicer number than 17
2. They were too focused on the results
3. Bullshit Powers
@SWSU-Master: Fair enough. That's all I was really curious about :)
Other than the mulitude of questions about Jake (from State Farm) [that copout with Yukie really sucked, BTW]; this was a great season overall. Now the hard part, waiting for SFC15....
@qazox: The wait will hopefully be worth it

A pretty good winner in Liz. Another enjoyable season SWSU! Question, is the next season going to be a standard format, or is there a unique twist? No need to spoil anything now (as if you would) but from the way Jeff talks at the end makes it seem like there's going to be some twist.
@RiceAndBeans: Not saying yet
@SWSU-Master: Yay liz i'm so happy. Also i want to create a sprite so i can send it to ya as an entry but i can't find the things i need can ya help? plz
@crazy fan : here is the link to the sfc application:
you'll need to register an account for deviantart or smackjeeves and send your filled-out application to swsu master in a private message. hope this helped! :)
EDIT: here's the link to swsu master's sprite base:
copy and paste this image into your image editor of choice, and make sure you resize the image to 50% size before editing.
@crazy fan : What Congo said, although in apps, I tend to redo the sprites to get them to fit a style
@SWSU-Master: whats sprite engine use called can't seem to find it
@Crazy fan: There is no engine. I made them all myself
Holy carpentry, I called it! I called it! Hooray! I was really hoping this would happen. I mean, I like Jojo, but Liz really earned this victory more.
All in all, a decent season. The only problem was that I kept losing my favourite characters. I guess you are breaking out of the even-season curse.
@Friend of Fennecs: Yeah, boot orders can be tricky especially around the merge time
Yes, the right sister won! I'm impressed that Desmond didn't vote bitterly but that Diego made his own decision instead of going with Prussia. What seperated Liz from Jojo was her unselfishness when she tried to understand people like Thorne or Diego's thirst for power. Even as an immunity threat she still didn't rest on her laurels and got her sister's support. That's quite a lot
This was another great season with nice characters. My only bigger complaint would be that besides his few TribalCouncil votes Jake was pretty irrelevant and from what I read in the comments there might have been more potential. Apart from that, the new perspective and "The Deserted" twist worked pretty well. Thanks for SFC14. Here's my quick ranking for the characters (from best to worst):
Liz - Stagg - Diego - Mac - Jojo - Yukie - Thorne - Prussia - Ivan - Desmond - Hunter - Tyra - Buddy - Spinfur - Jake - Adeline - Mikah -------- Amelia
I'll definitely be around for SFC15
@SkySurfer: Look forward to seeing you around then
Definitely an all around good season, Good winner, good story, good characters, good everything. Not sure if it would crack my top 5 fave seasons though but its definitely up there.
Excited for next season no matter how long it takes, and maybe I'll be able to see one of my apps in it if I'm lucky :D
@joshisism: Sometimes it is luck, even someone like Sgt. Stagg can be in waiting for a few sesons
Great job to Liz. I figured she would win.
Few questions that NEED answering SWSU:
Can you finally explain Jake. Did he exist? Why did his votes count? Was he really voted off on Day 12? Everything.
Also, I find this a little strange, SWSU. Didn't you criticize Mike's edit a lot in World's Apart? I found Liz to be pretty obvious from Episode 1.
EDIT: One last thing. You saw how much the viewers HATED Amelia. I hope this is a clue we don't want the bitchy girl archetype anymore. It's getting old fast. Sorry if you like it, but I think we can go a season without one. Or several.
@TJBambi93: Jakes explanation is 100% What Yukie said.
And for Liz/Mike. The thing I didnt like about Mike was how all roads led to Mike and how the edit tried to lie and make it seem like Mike was part of the No Collar Alliance he decimated. And that Mike winning was a win for the Fan Favorites
Overall, a very good season. It had it's ups and downs, but I feel like this one had a lot of great character development as well as very diverse and interesting characters. As I had nothing invested in Jake I really didn't care about the whole "fake-out". My favorite characters were Bradley, Diego, Desmond, Liz, and Mac. Here's to the next season! :)
@Shyruni: Hopefully it'll be good as well!
Well, the season is finally over. All in all, this was a pretty damn good season. Lots of positive character development, great exploration of personal relationships, and a pretty deserving (if predictable) winner. My favorite character for this season was Diego, because who doesn't love the fat ineffectual guy who gets the girl with his winning personality? Truly a villain to be feared by all. My least favorite character was Amelia by a mile. Social justice warriors never really amuse me, but when she took her hipstery shtick into overdrive she became fucking unbearable. And as for Jake? I really couldn't care less. Overall, a pretty damn good season. If there ever was a an even season curse, it's broken now.

I just realized, if people go back to the BrantSteele simulator on Cast Preview 4, I actually got a Liz win (though against Diego.) My simulation totally called the winner! O_o
it a shame I was just a person for the twist and not a big plot but hey that's how it goes I know what it feels like writing off people's characters I do it all the time in my survivor fanfics
Finished up another time through all 14 seasons! Good memories to go through again.
