Fan Characters will be competing for $1,000,000.
One more challenge left...
Cherman did it first, Desmond. Pwnt.
Oh wait, he said unanimously? That won't happen no matter who you take to the end idiot. Still pwnt.
Desmond's fall is going to be so glorious and so amazing.
Dang, this is getting intense, this is literally anyone's game at this point. Still hoping Desmond's gonna win, but each character seems like a possible victor. WOO!
I SOOOOOO hope Desmond leaves. I don't hate him, I just like Liz and JoJo more.
Also, bad JoJo! Bad! Don't quote the Hipster!
It seems that Desmond is cranking his arrogance up to eleven, which furthers makes the twin F2 seem even more obvious than it was before (I mean all it takes is one simple twin switch and BAM! Desmond is a goner) ...so much so that I'm sorta expecting SWSU to pull a last minute plot twist and somehow let Desmond actually make it to the finale ... or maybe making it obvious is just to make people paranoid.
EDIT: Also on a side note, I'm pretty sure quoting Amelia of all people is the last thing Jojo should be doing right now.
Jojo's gonna win the challenge, then she's going to keep Liz, and then she's going to win.
Easy game easy life.
And @SWSU, sorry again for getting so...emotional >.< I'm still feeling stupid for getting so worked up...
@anime9001: To be fair we were both worked up about Jake for literally months so it's not like it's not justified. As long as you don't personally attack SFC or SWSU himself I don't see a problem with letting out your frustration. I mean, it was a dick move on his part no doubt >_>
@coolkyledude: Yeah, but while I do feel like I showed my disappointment in a respectful (albeit whiney) manner, I don't want SWSU to feel particularly bad for his choices, especially after the short explanation I did get made me realize that most of what I was actually upset about seemed more coincidential than anything else.
More than anything, I want SWSU to know that taking risks is a good thing, and that he shouldn't shy away from it out of fear of his readers' reactions. I will say that I hope he doesn't pull a similar trick anytime soon...but these things are needed to test the limits of what he can achieve, and I'll settle with feeling embarrased/disappointed every now and again over SWSU's content becoming safe and stagnant.
Yeah, I'm sure what I have to say here probably isn't going to change how SWSU does his comics in the future, but I just want him to know that he shouldn't worry about stepping on our toes every once in a while :)
@anime9001: ...Yeah, I totally agree with that - I think it's fair to say that one of the biggest strengths of SFC is the fact that SWSU is willing to do something new every season. They don't always work, but when they do they typically work really well and make for a really good show- er, comic.
While some people were able to laugh about Jake, I didn't find it all that funny personally but I'm still going to stick it out for the rest of this season and come back for the next one because despite this season's shortcomings (IMO) it's still much better than a great many things both on the internet and off.
It does make me wonder though... what would a Survivor season with a big overlying mystery behind it be like? The closest we've gotten was Prescilla/Bonnie in SFC9 and that still only remained a mystery for, what, four episodes? Psst, SWSU, it'd likely make for a really compelling season and it's worth trying - it made this one compelling and there wasn't even one.
@coolkyledude: I think Hash/Sasha being a girl might have trumped that one, and that ended up being one of the most praised things he's ever done.
The main issue with SWSU having some overaching mystery however, which lingered in the back of my mind this entire season, is that when the day is said and done, SWSU always makes sure everything stays very within the realm of survivor. Aside from the occasional super power, nothing really happens that could not actually happen, and NOTHING breaks up the traditional survivor system. Now, I'm not saying I would NOT love to see that (I think we've made it clear throughout the season that we like that sort of thing :p), I just have a hard time seeing him do it, especially when this season felt like it was begging for it.
@anime9001: Oh, right - Sasha. It didn't seem like nearly as big a deal to me, reading multiple episodes a day, but that would definitely be a big deal to someone reading it live.
Well I mean Jake, regardless of how his story ends up concluding, broke Survivor pretty damn hard :P I mean, I can see why it'd be tough but I can think of a few ways to remain within the realm of Survivor.
I guess you couldn't do too much with the votes, because they're revealed after each episode. Maybe a medevac with shady circumstances? Plus, I mean, the supernatural isn't out of the question with SFC - we've had characters who could read minds, and don't even get me started on Enter.
You could excuse the lack of information by someone not trusting the producers and avoiding the cameras, or maybe the related film being stolen or something.
I don't know - I'm not writing a Survivor season here so I don't want to delve too deep but that's what I came up with in a few minutes of brainstorming. It'd take some ingenuity but it's not impossible.
@coolkyledude: speaking of mysteries, i'm going to sound silly for still talking about jake, but there's something odd:
yukie said that she didn't finish writing her replacement for hawk wardly at the last tribal council, right? it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that her survivor fanfic doesn't have an ending either, since she's been busy on sfc14. what happened at the day 12 tribal council could be what happens when yukie doesn't finish writing a scene. it was meant to be hawk wardly's boot episode (along with adeline's quit), but of course, hawk was removed from yukie's fanfic, and a glitchy unfinished character was all that's left.
my prediction: yukie's final tribal council question triggers another ms paint reality meltdown because there was never an ending to her fanfic. of course, this is under the assumption that EVERYTHING in her fanfic has an sfc14 counterpart.
ok, i'm shutting up about jake until he's relevant again. can't wait to see fallen comrades and the challenge :)
@Congo: I don't think it's silly to keep talking about him a little bit. There ARE still a few things that don't make sense that I mentioned on yesterday's comic (not in the nicest way, but I wasn't in the best of moods so sorry about that >_>).
Why did Jeff keep mentioning 18 contestants if he couldn't name all of them? Why did it take five episodes for someone to mention the imbalance in tribes? Why didn't anyone ever speculate on the tenth votes in Jake's two Tribals? More stuff like that.
The explanation Yukie gives us to these questions is flimsy as best - maybe they didn't question anything because they didn't question it in her fanfic? But that raises another question as to why, when the story finally broke away from her fanfic, was Yukie the one to mention the tribes' imbalance? Clearly she knew judging by yesterday's TC, so shouldn't it have been someone else?
I dunno. I'm holding out a little bit of hope for a different conclusion to our favorite insurance company mascot as long as these questions remain without an answer but at the same time I don't see one coming.
Can't help but feel that Jojo isn't referring to Liz in panel 6...
Desmond will lose badly
wow, desmond is almost as smug as the fanfic i wrote on the last comic!
there's no way it's going to be a clean "the sisters vote off desmond" thing, so i'm wondering what will happen. there's only one thing that could happen:
it's an endurance challenge, desmond quits, and liz and jojo don't trust each other enough to step off.
This is a good comic to make me despise Desmond even more. Isn't asking the main immunity threat to throw the challenge warning enough?
I dunno if Jojo realizes that a Final 2 with her sister is harder than against Desmond but I hope we will see the right team-up.
Interesting. Liz actually has a 2/3 chance of leaving after the final Immunity. If Jojo or Desmond wins, Liz is leaving since she's the most clear winner. Unless Desmond puts his foot square in his mouth, I think he's making final two.
So I wonder what happens.
I think honestly someone hurts themselves to get medivac'd and no tribal council... or there's no tribal council because the last two battle it out Tom/Ian style and tribal is held at night.
I feel like Liz is going to get 3rd, and then Desmond gets 0wned (to quote Amelia) by the jury. I am so excited for this ending!
