Ooh... this is a tough guess, but I'll say one of Jojo or Liz are leaving. Not sure which, but I'm thinking it'll be one of them.

Why is this post-merge cast so similar to Worlds Apart's? So much of this cast is either unlikable or morally grey with only a couple of exceptions.

Mac just left last comic, for being likable and a jury threat. Hmm... sound familiar? Joe.

Yukie, an annoying (to some) but somewhat strategic superfan? Shirin, at least in her character; I doubt she'll end up getting a similar arc.

Diego, the joke villain who's actually managed to make some moves and position himself surprisingly well in the game? Sounds like Rodney. Just wait, he'll be doing impressions soon enough.

Amelia says a lot of really dumb shit and is kinda sorta really pathetic, and is considered by almost everyone to be an easy goat? She's Will.

I could keep going, but I'm sure you get my point now. Basically, I wanted to highlight the fact that there is one character who has put himself in a great position, is far and above the most likable player left, got himself in some conflict early on (nothing too major), has an idol and strategic savvy, and seems to be doing really well overall.

Sgt. Stagg.

Sgt. Stagg is SFC14's equivalent of Mike Holloway. Mind you, he hasn't made a stupid error at the Auction and gotten himself into the position of Public Enemy #01 (yet) but up until that point of WA, Stagg and Mike parallel each other very well, if not almost perfectly. He's very likely going to win the game and that's what I meant when I said he had a winner's edit.

Yeah, I know this season was finished long before Worlds Apart finished, but it's still interesting that these seasons seem to be so similar despite that. I really hope that, if I'm right and Stagg wins, it's not too obvious like Mike's win. Anyway, that's all. Just a theory... a Survivor theory! Thanks for reading.

@coolkyledude: that's sort of a stretch on all counts lol. It's a negative cast for sure, but comparing it to WA is kind of an insult lol

Reply coolkyledude, June 8th, 2015, 11:17 pm

@Slicer: Oh, don't get me wrong. I love the cast (sans Amelia) and think they fit together really well. I just thought I'd share some thoughts I had. But I disagree that most of what I said was a stretch - there are similarities to be found here.

@coolkyledude: I mean...Yukie's has a generally easy journey so far, unlike Shirin. Part of Rodney's whole shtick was frat boy sexism, while Diego has been playing second fiddle to a woman the entire time. Joe had game awareness, unlike Mac.

I guess their are similarties, but I don't think there's any more than any other season.

not logged in @Slicer: Well, like I said for Yukie, it was more her general character that resembled Shirin rather than her experience within the game. You make a good point regarding Diego, but for him I was referring to the fact that he was liked by most other players and a somewhat incompetent villain (despite both accomplishing some things). You're totally right about Joe and Mac - their similarities lie more in the reasons surrounding their boot and other character traits.

They're not perfect comparisons obviously because they're not the same characters, but I just noticed some parallels here and there for a few characters.

Akward but really necessary... Jojo never really wanted to accept the consequences of her actions and Liz was the first to snap out of it.
What kind of strategy will work for the two girls now that they cannot rely on switching places anymore? I hope this will hurt Jojo more than Liz in the end because the akward silence shows that the others won't be as forgiving as Desmond...

*remembers Jojo's embarrasing campfire stories about her "sister".*

Looks like the twin switching is finally over. Good. It was confusing trying to keep track at times. JoJo deserved every bit of this, and anything that pisses Amelia off is fine with me.
