Fan Characters will be competing for $1,000,000.
This one hurt, like a Thorne suddenly stabbed me in the side and then went to jail...
Thorne is honestly one of my favorite characters this season just because of how she interacted with people. In her application it was said that she was not to receive a redemption arc, to which I complied, I thought it would be a very interesting twist, and I wouldn't exactly call her trying to lie about her lie redemption at all. She was probably the most confident character in the entire cast since she knew what she wanted constantly and never faltered, and didn't give a shit about who got in her way.
As much as it hurts me, and all of her fans out there, This was the place where she needed to get off, and her presence will sorely be missed in the game. Perhaps if she gets out on parole we can see her again someday.
that was hardcore! sad to see thorne go :(
yeah, i'm with vilecheese down there. what was the point of the idol play?
idk why thorne calls the jojo/liz thing a lie at the end. if that was she was talking about.
i didn't comment on it when it was happening, but strategic amelia is great!
@Congo: Prussia's plan was sunk by Thorne's speech and they improvised
@Congo: "idk why thorne calls the jojo/liz thing a lie at the end. if that was she was talking about."
If I had to guess, she only said it as a last ditch attempt to stay in the game, and when she was voted out she wanted to protect her? I dunno, it was weird.
Literally nothing about this vote made any sense at all.
Prussia wastes her idol when she could've voted out Thorne 4-3...to vote out Thorne in the revote. And really, no one believed Thorne when she said the girls were sisters? It makes as much sense as Ivan giving Desmond his idol. This cast is so strange in how they all play, nothing they do make any sense.
I'm not even saying this as a complaint, just that...I'm not getting why they do what they keep doing.
@Vilecheese: I think that's the downside of having a very story-centered season: You don't get much time to focuse on the actual game and things just sorta happen...
Not saying that this season is horrible or anything, it MILES above seasons 8 and 10
@Quizzical Pursuit: Oh totally, I like it more than 12 and 13 as well. This cast as a whole is pretty strong. It's just these gameplay decisions are baffling.
@Vilecheese: Prussia and Diego made a last minute flip in the vote since Thorne mentioned taking down the couples, when they themselves are a couple she could easily go after.
@SWSU-Master: Yeah okay, that part makes some sense. Still don't know why they were so obsessed with using an idol when they didn't need to unless it was just to be VILLAINOUS MUAHAHAHA or something.
@Vilecheese: Well lets not ignore the fact that they ARE Saturday Morning Cartoon Villains at heart
@SWSU-Master: I literally could not have thought of a better reason myself.
I'm much more ok with this now XD
@SWSU-Master: I assumed that the whole "we it to find the pairs and eliminate them" thing was in everyone's minds after Yukie brought it up at TC, so I found it weird that is the sole reason they nullified their plans.
@Quizzical Pursuit: With someone as headstrong as Thorne using that as a possibly rallying cry, they wouldnt want to risk it especially if by keeping her they eliminate the only other pair.
@Vilecheese: I feel like commenting on each of your points separately~
1. I don't think Throne's "lie" is going to be fully overlooked, especially when Yukie catches wind of it. It's just not going to be fully assumed as fact until some characters talk it over post-tribal.
2. I think Ivan's logic giving Desmond his idol is....debatable. While Desmond has messed Ivan over to some degree, none of them were full on backstabs....yet, and Ivan knows he's burned quite a few bridges much earlier than he would have liked in this game. At least Desmond is still acting like his ally, which is more than I can say for....anyone else left in the game. Once again, I'm not saying you're wrong here and it was smart/logical for him to give it to Desmond, I just think it's debatable.
3. While I think the main purpose of this vote was to cast doubt on Liz/Jojo, I'll agree that Prussia playing her idol made little to no sense and was completely stupid either way. The ONLY logic I can assume is that Prussia thought she'd get a chance to talk to miss-hipster-pants between votes and didn't get to. Once again, even with that assumption it was stupid, but that's all I've got.
4. I respect that you're trying not to complain anymore about stuff in the comic, but don't feel like you can never complain anymore :p That's kinda the vibe I've been getting from you recently. As I've said before, I always felt your complaints livened up the comments section~ That may just be me though.
@anime9001: to respond to the Prussia stuff: I agree playing the idol was dumb, but it's not like Prussia's game has been very great so far anyway. She may talk like a strategist and have a lot of control, but if you look past the boasting Her game has been really clunky the whole season.
And everyone proceeded to completely ignore Thorne's "lie" ...
Guessing one of the suits goes next.
@Quizzical Pursuit: They didn't exactly ignore it, it just didn't help her chances. Plus 2/5 voting were a pair as well
@SWSU-Master: I was referring more to After this TC, when everyone will completely erase that speech from their minds, so The sisterhood can still remain a secret.
inb4 it was Jake who masterminded the vote
Not too sad to see Thorne go because honestly I like both Mac and Liz but still. Merge time!
@coolkyledude: We're Goin Green!
Prussia had to split the vote and play her idol, 'cause it was stupid. Granted if she didn't, she'd be gone, but she and Diego easily could've voted Thorne out without wasting the idol
Thorne was nice and all, but I'm glad she left versus her competition. It's nice that she tried not to completely mess over Liz's game on her exit as well~
Meanwhile, let the merge begin :)
I was right about Thorne's spite play, but I didn't expect her to claim it was a lie immediately afterwards. Guess she has a little emotional investment after all. Here's hoping for a pleasant merge and Amelia's immediate eviction.
Thorne went out the way she lived, Like a Boss.Sad but at least she never changed.
Amelia has now taken her place as my fav :)
Just what you said, SWSU-Master, just what you said...
I was rooting for Thorne, knowing she'd never become the sole survivor but go pretty far while influencing the game her way. Even though she showed the typical rudeness such a character is bound to have she was honest and kept a cool head. I will definitely miss her
I'll join the group of people who are a bit puzzled about Thorne calling the revelation a lie. Could this be some little bit of respect for Liz? I think especially Prussia will still not forget this.
Now it should be interesting to see what kind of new alliance Ivan will try to form after the merge cause... I'm convinced that Desmond won't keep his word
Thorne was one of those characters I grew to enjoy, and for a split second I thought Liz was done for after she exposed them. Oh well, Thorne managed to make it out into a lie. question is, will be overlooked?
Also looking forward to this merge. Changing the hashtag to Where's Jake now.
Liz > Ivan > Sgt. Stagg > Mac > Desmond > Prussia > Jojo > Yukie > Diego > Amelia
EDIT: Also, what do you mean by "Loose Ships sink unexpecting players"? Ships? Other than Yukie's shipping tendencies I literally have no idea what this maens..
As much as I liked Thorne, I'm happy she left in place of Liz. Her calling the truth a lie is interesting. Perhaps she wants to protect Liz? Hmmm...
